It is a funny thing. I am probably one of the few people how didn"t like the MU episodes. I am allergic of manipulation and didn"t like the TnT part. Not my cuppa. But Payment... I started reading it... and really became interested in the story. Some how the MU T'pol and Trip do look like the MU as shown in the episodes, but you understand them more, they become even sympathatic. The atmosphere look at bit like the Roman empire, decent people trying to survive in a cruel empire. Guess I make a exception with this story.

I feel exactly the same about the MU episodes. HATED THEM!!!!!! What a horrible waste of two precious remaining episodes. But much of the fic I'm okay with, because it makes TnT much more sympathetic than they were in that universe. And I would certainly include Payment in that.

I think this feeling is the feeling of most people.
But Payment is another thing: it is capable of arousing some "HOPE" in that dark universe!

But much of the fic I'm okay with, because it makes TnT much more sympathetic than they were in that universe. And I would certainly include Payment in that.

Now I think about it, I think Payment is only one of the few MU fic I came across. And HOPE, Asso, is the key word.

Rigil Kent's Janus is very good too, but unfinished and likely to remain that way, so I wouldn't go there unless you can stand to be left hanging. I'm sure there are others that combine sympathetic T or T with MU ickiness. Linda's recent one is good but as dark as the original (sorry, Linda).

I'm a little amazed that MissAnnthropic is the first to mix up the regular and MU characters, that I know of. This is what made the original Mirror, Mirror a far better episode. We had our own heroes to root for.

I like the idea of mixing the regular with MU characters, like in the Mirror-episodes of Deep Space Nine. The problem I have with MU T'pol in the fic of MAT is that I do not think she looks like MU T'pol in the episodes at all. The whole story and MU T'pol just rubs me in the wrong way. She is a little miss perfect, the innocent lady in distress that every one just wants to save, passing jugment on others and she just annoys me, but maybe it just she reminds me of some one in RL. I must confess I stopped reading the story, so my view of the story is limited. I did not red Janus, because it looked at bit too dark for my taste.
Did Linda a MU fic? Did I missed that one?
