Re: Trip and T'Pol's future in the relaunch novels - Your Though
I had a lengthy post typed up refuting the various comments made recently, but deleted it. My opinion is well known about this book and the direction they're taking with TnT, and I don't need to repeat it and start another crapstorm.

It's not good to keep things bottled up.
Hmmm...I didn't like it much, but maybe I should give it another chance. I'd really like to see more of T'pol's presence, though. She's a more interesting character than most.

an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

When it comes to books having Enterprise elements Vulcan souls 3 They talk about Archer and T'Pau finding the Kir' Shara but they ignored the fact T'Pol also played a big role in finding it and should've included her too.I find that really annoying that books don't mention her character T'Pol gets ignored or overlooked .

Bingo. She's only the most interesting character since Spock.

Nothing bottled up, I just don't think it really serves any purpose for me to repeat myself over and over. I found the book mediocre at best, and the entire direction being taken in regards to the TnT relationship disappointing. Not surprising, mind you, but disappointing nonetheless.
But I'm in the minority and have no desire to start another of the silly arguments like we had before the serve hiccup. Hence, I'm saying nothing more.

Book: not much zip, verve, whatever. Nothing to grab one about the language itself. For me, anyway.

I already read TGTMD and I am half way through LFM. I don't see anything that definitely says Trip and T'Pol did not marry and have children. I read the beginning and ending parts of the framing scene in LFM where Trip has lived to a very old age and still has fresh memories of his sister Lizzie as he visits the memorial. I like that. It carries out the promise from the episode "The Forgotten" where he says his sister would be never be forgotten. And it vindicates my being pissed off at him in the episode "The Expanse" where he verbally berates Malcolm for asking about a memorial for Lizzie and says "She was never big on memorials".
Question about LFM. Since it was about the MACOs I was hoping to see something of Amanda Cole. She is not there in what I read so far.
I think I found an error. It was mentioned that a ship full of Vulcans was found with their bodies turned inside out. Wasn't that the Klingons who were turned inside out and found still alive? I wish they would proof read for these canon inconsistancies!

Well, clearly we interpreted it differently. The implication that I perceived was that Trip had not seen any of his old friends in 70+ years.

There are all sorts of those kind of errors, especially in TGTMD which is riddled with them.

Gah. You nearly got me to repeat myself about my thoughts re: the relaunch.
Do you seriously think that I want there to be no relationship, Shaka? What I want to happen and what I expect to happen are two entirely different things.

T'Potarts, beats me how you turn someone inside out. But Soval said that is what happened to the Klingons in The Expanse. MIght have been the episode "The Expanse" because that is where he showed Starfleet the 'Vulcans gone wild' footage.

It's from The Expanse
SOVAL: There has been reports of fierce and dangerous species, unexplained anomalies. In some regions, even the laws of physics don't apply. Twenty years ago, a Klingon vessel emerged from the Expanse. Every crewmen on board has been anatomically inverted, their bodies splayed open, and they were still alive. You'd be more than foolish to pursue this course of action.

I was joking Rigil ,but serriouslly ,do you think they would have spilled it out in LFM if they were together ? their relationship was a subplot for season 4 ,anghst is a very good bussines move for them ,they keep you buying the books to find out how it ends ,if it was writen in LFM that they ended up together ,forever and hapilly ever after ,were would the fun be ?
LFM was not part of the relaunch ,it was a book about the Macos.
Why would the authors didn't end it on Vulcan and be done with it ? if they wanted to avoid writing romance because they couldn't they would have scrapped the romance right there ,not go trough all that anghst ,they wouldn't have Trip meet with her in the end ,they wouldn't still be bonded, bottom line ,anghst sells
.
And on a more emotional level ,i like to think that Margaret Clark has a future for them together ,after going thru all the drama they went in season 4 and in this book ,it would be cruel for her to break them up ,and i don't think she is cruel .
