Oh well. I make them compulsively, so I have to actually use some of them. You haven't seen the half of them, believe me.

I guess it's less annoyingly obvious for a non-physician. I'm glad it didn't bug you as much as it bugged me.

SPOILER!!!:
I'm ashamed to say that I'm not politically savvy enough to understand the reference. I knew there was some significance to it by the way they exchanged that "look" and then the camera panned to the picture of J. Edgar Hoover, but the significance went totally over my head. What were they trying to say with that scene?

I STILL haven't seen the movie. :( If hubs doesn't take me today, I'm just going alone.

SPOILER!!!:
Oh, it was just a silly joke with the score -- like GWB's Presidency IS an X-File -- almost as unbelievable as a cross-dressing nutcase like Hoover running the FBI for all those years. It was just such a blatant, unexpected political joke that it made me laugh out loud.

SPOILER!!!:
I'll use the spoiler code, just in case anyone who wants to see it still hasn't yet. I finally went. Alone. Sigh. I'm sure that Eric would have taken me, but I just couldn't wait any longer. I did enjoy it quite a bit. :) I guess I am just not all that picky when it comes to these two. As I recall, the series was never close to medically accurate either. It's unfortunate, but the movie really wasn't any different in that respect. It felt to me like a good old-fashioned X-File and definitely Scully-centric this time. Most importantly, these two slipped right back into their roles (and seemed to have barely aged at all  ) and they still very plainly adore each other. I just couldn't help feeling a bit sad in that theatre, though. It's nostalgic almost... the show first came on in 1992, the year my son was born. I was home 24 hours a day...not driving, not working and the show was just something that I looked forward to every week. The fact that there was literally one person in the theatre with me today just kind of rings home that that time is over now. Not many folks care about fictional Mulder and Scully anymore. I still do. It was good to spend some time with them again. I really think that last scene was a nod to all of the fan fiction writers out there. Kind of the way us romantics always dreamed it should be, but not all that realistic. All in all, an enjoyable time.

I know exactly what you mean, Bether. My mom got me hooked on the show when she was helping me with my newborn.

I didn't get the feeling they think there will be a sequel, so I'm glad this one sent the series off better than that horrible finale did.

SPOILER!!!:
Well, it really was kind of silly. Mulder had said something about "getting out of here, just you and me." You have to understand that these two spent years and years NOT talking about their relationship or their feelings for each other. So even hearing him say things like that are kind of a  and then a :) . Anyhow, they were out in the middle of some huge body of water in a rowboat. I'm pretty sure Mulder was shirtless and Scully was wearing a bikini...very un-Mulder and un-Scullylike. And then they waved to us as the camera faded away. :? It could just never be that way with them. Not sure what the writers were trying to tell us there. Maybe that that's how they'd be together in their dreams or something? I don't know. It did make me smile, but it would hard to imagine those two ever really being like that. Maybe the message was to love what you have and appreciate it as it is. Or something like that. Works for me.

You haven't seen it yet? I don't think it will be out for very long and will probably not even gross 20 million in the US. I think that folks these days really want to see CGI effects and major explosions and such. With The X-Files, the viewer has to choose to engage. Too bad. :? I hope you see it soon.
