We need more ENT inspirational posters

Re: We need more ENT inspirational posters
It was horribly immature (to go with the rest of the episode), downplayed what just happened in regards to T'Pol seducing Trip for a one night stand only to play coy the next morning, had Trip act completely unrealistically to the "exploration" explanation T'Pol gave, and forced everything back to the status quo from before that episode.

Oh well, different strokes. I don't expect maturity from Trip and T'Pol, at least in regard to each other.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

Except that a real guy would have been hurt and disgusted, and wouldn't have so easily recovered from it, let alone suggest that they keep up the NP.

Re: We need more ENT inspirational posters
I beg to disagree. I think Trip has made a long enough study of T'Pol that he has a pretty good idea what her game is. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, but it means he's not necessarily going to throw in the towel that easily.
If these two were rational and mature, they wouldn't get together at all, and they certainly wouldn't have kept trying to get together. There's no good reason for them to get together. They are each other's blind spot.

Uh, no, 'fraid not. The whole episode was painful to watch, and that scene in particular because of how fake and contrived it was. With all that happened, it was played for laughs, and it came off completely wrong. It baffles the hell out of me that people still look at that scene, or the episode for that matter, in a positive light. At least the writers who followed it up in the later episodes didn't let it go without any kind of fallout.

Of course there's good reason for them to get together, first and foremost that they have a lot in common, not to mention that they might find things about each other that interest them. Using this kind of argument is kind of like saying that it's all fake and doesn't matter anyway.

You have no idea how much I hate that scene...
I don't hate it. It's just part of the dance. And CT's acting in that scene is fabulous. He lets us know 1) How involved Trip has become, 2) How much it smarts when she says what she says, 3) That he's smart enough to guess that T'Pol is feeding him a line, and 4) He ain't giving up that easy.
Maybe I'm a little bit raw, but I have something to say about this scene.
It's pretty, lovely, amusing and very well played by both CT and JB.
It's a scene which is worth to be seen.
And, IMO, it's absolutely false.
It's perfectly evident that the scene has been written with the clear intention to show something humorous, and to make things vague.
And surely the aim has been achieved.
But...
Can you truly believe that after a love night a woman could say what T'Pol said? There are masses of things she could have told Trip. But... that one!
And, please, don't tell me she is Vulcan!
And Trip!
Oh man! But has he blood in his veins?
No! There's something else, underneath.
And, otherwise, well! I enjoy this scene, but - without hating it - I find it ridiculous.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Well at least someone sorta has my back, though I'm pretty sure there are a few other guys here who would too.

I only agree that Connor's acting was great, not that the script was great: Here's how it should have gone. This is Elessar's "I'll Go First":

Re: We need more ENT inspirational posters
Well, both of them consistently did a pretty good job with the crap they got handed. Which is why anytime I see someone claim that JB's acting was wooden incurs my wrath.

It was very pretty. But I think there are other ways.

No it is not like so saying it's all fake and doesn't matter anyway. (I say that now and then but not on this one.) Yes, they have some things in common, but come on. They really have NO BUSINESS getting involved with each other at this point in their lives.
1. They're both in the chain of command with one reporting to the other.
2. They're from different cultures and species with significantly different values and lifespans.
3. They have no reason at the outset to think they can ever have a family.
4. Neither of them is likely to be particularly comfortable on the other's planet for any length of time. Trip, in particular, already knows he hates deserts and plomeek soup.
5. Both face personal, cultural and professional repercussions from their choice.
6. They're not exactly getting to know each other all that well before they jump into this.
Yeah, they have stuff in common (BlacknBlue was right about that), but not enough to justify this behavior. It had to be essentially irrational to start with. And they're not stupid -- they know it's irrational. Thus the self-protective behavior on both their parts.
Not that it had to be jealousy and Trellium-D to spark it off. If you ask me, just being on a suicide mission in the Expanse is enough. People in dangerous shooting wars don't tend to be models of sexual propriety.

None of those reasons has ever stopped anyone from having a romantic relationship before.
