Errr... don't ask what this is for but... does it look good? OK, it's not a work of art (like, for example, something done by Lys or CoffeeCat) but it could be worse, couldn't it? By the way, the light part at the right it is supposed to contain a title, that's why it looks so empty.

Probably I'll change the woman in blue, but it was so cool when I saw the pic that I had to use it

Woman in blue is kinda cute but if this is about your series I think you picked the wrong woman in blue. You do need a strong focal figure of some kind, though.

It looks good. I like it better than misty romantic art -- though this is just a matter of personal taste, of course.

Well, the woman in blue is the protagonist (kind of), so she isn't the wrong woman  But I think it doesn't go very well with the rest of the picture. Maybe something darker, but it's difficult to find the right pic...

Honestly, I think that is wrong, or - better - not right.
I'm not young - alas! - and I know it's difficult to not mix personal things and beliefs with matters which are not only personal, and, probably, it's even unfair... if we don't blend all this.
My thought is that it isn't good thing if we give up the dialogue.

Well, in real life I'm opinionated (goes with the territory of working as an editor at a newspaper) so I prefer not to get into heated debates online. Been there, done that and got burned (case in point: TrekBBS). Certain issues and opinions are very strongly felt by everyone - witness the "gun control arguments" for example. This is why I like that we've mostly stayed away from certain issues, like politics. I remember I couldn't stand the heated atmosphere at TBBS four years ago when there was the previous U.S. presidential campaign, and that was not just because I'm not American. Heated debates on sensitive issues is unfortunately, human nature being what it is, a recipe for disaster, or at least of pissing people off, or getting people pissed off at you.

That said, if there's a moral issue or something stemming from Star Trek (the reason why we're here) I can certainly express my opinion, like I do in my reviews (which are now on hiatus). But that's different from, say, arguing the merits or lack thereof of any of the current U.S. presidential contenders.

That's all I'm going to say about this... :?

Well - I didn't actually return to this BBS until today because it didn't seem worth arguing about. I gave the only response I thought it was worth. I have more thoughts on the resulting argument in this thread, but I don't think some people are ready to hear them.

KTR, you're right: Linda, you're pretty damn close to what I was thinking, but there's more to it and it has to do with my personal view of acting, porn, erotica, and the world in general, which is something that I wouldn't discuss with people here for the reasons KTR talked about in his post.

I just want everyone to know that nothing has changed - I'll be making more pictures in the future and when I have time, make changes that people have suggested to the ones I've already made (something about starfields and alien planets).

I'm glad that you're still going to be making your fiddles. :) I might even get into it myself, one of these days, since I got photoshop now.

Granted, I don't have as much artistic ability as some of the folks here  , but I thought I'd share some recent fanart with you guys. All are drawn with oil or chalk pastel. Let me know what you think of these.

From my AU Switcheroo Series...no, this isn't Enterprise or Columbia's crew, but the crew of the NX-04 Challenger. This bunch will play a big part in helping Hoshi and her crew out when there's the threat of war w/the Romulans. (chalk pastel)

I thought the people here would appreciate this find. I didn't make these, but this person came up with the idea of coloring all the TOS uniforms black and it just looks magnificent. Here's a link to the pictures. I wonder if they uniforms were black, would we have viewed the show a little more differently. To me, it looks a lot less cheesy.

Hmmm...I really do like the all-black uniform. Looks more, well Starfleet-like. :D

I suppose someone would think they'd look like fascists... :?

Regarding the bright colours that look cheesy now, back in the day colour TV was new and the network wanted to capitalize on that.
