OOOOH MY GOD.

Todd.
I knew this was going to come up in SGA circles after that last episode. I was wondering where it'd go because that one episode where Ronon and Keller kissed seemed to just be forgotten, suddenly Rodney tells her he loves her? Wha?
Btw, did I miss a piano falling on Kate, Rodney's serious GF for awhile?
I originally really liked the Ronon/Keller dynamic 1. because it actually fit Ronon's past for the kind of women he's attracted to (his ex was a nurse), and 2. because there was a Trip/T'Pol type of oppositeness but, in the same way, there wasn't any big obvious incompatibility I could think of. Then they went and did the Rodney thing... so I don't know what I think. Especially the way Ronon reacted to Rodney in that last scene.
Didn't he seem petty to you? I mean you might be able to argue that for Ronon to come out and SAY something, he had to be pressed, but it looked like he just decided to actually be interested in her because Rodney was. Not only that, that smirk on his face looked really pompous and like "You gotta be kidding me, I'm such a ladies man, I'm gonna sweep her off her feet, you have no chance." Which just made me see him in a really arrogant-ass light. I normally really like Ronon, and I the reaction I anticipated he would have to Rodney's questions was much the same one he had towards the Teyla question with John... that he's a good friend of hers but he's not really a horndog or a womanizer and he isn't thinking about "that" all the time and I figured he would actually kind of think Rodney's approach to it was kind of impish. But he kind of rose to the patriarchal "man-world-who's-going-to-win-her" challenge. It was a surprise and a disappointment.
But from Keller's perspective... I don't see a lot of feelings or chemistry with Rodney, I just don't. I think she's a bit of a 'alpha male' booster. Even though she's not your bimbo cheerleader type, I do get the feeling that she's the kind of woman who likes the physical security of an alpha male.
McKay gets a bad run a luck, man. He was Carter's crush-bitch for like ...years. I was kind of looking forward to the possibility that Carter would gain a little humility in seeing him with a woman on Atlantis, but to my recollection that never happened. Rodney needs a woman that nobody thinks he deserves... like the stunner on the Vulcano planet that was ignoring Sheppard the whole time and totally impressed by every little thing Rodney did, hehe.
