[Distracted]

A coworker of mine was on Dirty Jobs. She makes boudin at a specialty meat shop on weekends. Dunno why they considered that a dirty job. It's just rice and seasonings and meat, and then the extruder fills the sausage casings and it comes out in one long speckled brown soft tube that you've got to twist to make the links.

Come to think of it, it DOES sorta look like the boudin maker is laying one huge, long, warm, fragrant...

Okay, never mind.

Well, perhaps they have run through and aired all the REAL dirty jobs already? Uh, nah, that probably is not it.

I had an interesting dream last night. I was at some kind of TrekCon that had taken over this small town. I don't know where, but it reminded me of the business district of one of the small Indiana towns that had a US highway routed through it for some reason. Anyway, for some reason, I was driving my dad's old orange Chevy pickup, and I start out in the dream wearing a pair of Vulcan ears. I saw a guy dressed up like Spock from TOS so I shouted and waved at him before giving him the Vulcan salute, chuckled a bit, then took the ears off and put them on the dash. For whatever reason, I get out of the truck with one of those disposable cameras, and I notice this mid-sized SUV parked next to me. Just then, Scott Bakula and Connor Trinneer walk up and make like they're going to get in the SUV. I wasn't quite believing that it was them, so I said their names aloud, and they looked at me and said, "yes." I smiled, they smiled back, and I was about to ask if I could trouble them for a picture when I woke up.

Okay I've definitely been watching too much Monk. Like I had that dream where Monk and the gang were like working on a homicide case in a construction site. And there was like a Borders store next to the construction site. So like while they were investigating etc for some reason I just had to write a Monk musical about the team and their case and their investigation. Then I got some people off the street and like from the Borders store to try to perform the musical. Like in the middle of the street. (All while they were still investigating) And we used the Borders store as a backstage. And like it just so happened that all the people I got for the musical happened to be terrible dancers and I had to really dumb down all the choreography for them and they still kept messing up all the time, and they kept groaning like every time I tried to teach them a new step.

Like a while ago I had this dream where I met my cousin again (like after years that I haven't seen her) but she had a different last name.

2 days ago my mother told me my cousin's getting married in a month.

I haven't seen her in like 6 years. I haven't talked to her in like WAY longer. I didn't even know she had a boyfriend.

Last night I dreamed Paris was a baby and I misplaced him somewhere. (Odd since he's a twin and in this dream it was just him. Not to mention, he's 17 years old.) I woke up in a total panic and even had to tell my husband the dream to make it seem less real.

This dream about having children or pets and leaving them somewhere or forgetting to feed them is actually a recurring nightmare for me, although it's been awhile.

Oh, dear, I DAYdream about forgetting to feed my pets. So I go to check their dishes, and usually they need topping up!

OK, I'm on a roll for weird dreams. This nightmare is pretty weird. See, I'm in charge of finding speakers for our astronomy club. For instance the last speaker was from the Robotics Institute discussing a rover that can look for life in the desert. The technology from that Institute is incorporated into NASA missions and is funded by NASA. Next month I get a break because we have an annual astrophotography contest and I don't have to do anything but sit back and watch the pretty pictures. So I dreamed I went to the November meeting and nothing is happening and there are only 10 people there. I start to panic. I found out that lots of people came to the meeting and then went home, so I see the President of the club and I ask him what went wrong. He says, "Oh, I can canceled the astrophotography contest because of poor seeing (turbulance in the atmosphere)." I was going "WHAT"S THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING! THAT'S OUTSIDE! THE ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST IS INSIDE!" And I'm losing it, and he's completely unpreturbed, then I look up and a neighor of mine is on stage at the podium wearing a bathing suit and talking about problems with her in-laws. I go, "WHO APPROVED THIS SPEAKER! I DIDN'T APPROVE THIS SPEAKER!"

Gah I've definitely been watching too much House. LOL since all my dreams lately are about House with all kinda crazy diseases and stuff, except that unlike House my dreams don't show NEEDLES in them. I should start a petition against showing needles on hospital shows. Like really it's hard to watch a show with my eyes covered!! No fair I hate needles

Anyway my latest in the series of House dreams involved Riker I don't really remember much of it. But it was like a House/TNG crossover, Riker traveled in time and went to Houseland, and there were like bad guys and stuff I'm not sure who they were though, they altered the timeline by making House go wrong on a case and the patient died, and Riker went to the past to stop them. And they chased them down the stairs or something. That's pretty much all I remember

House is the awesome. Right now I'm in withdrawal because my download is too slow and I already watched all the episodes I had. Well because I've been watching like 8 episodes a day (no kidding). It's addictive. And awesome. I'm in the end of the 3rd season now. I dread the day I actually catch up because then I'll only have ONE EPISODE A WEEK!! That's cruel

I dreamt that some people tried to prank me into opening my door so they could beat me up and steal my stuff, but I succeeded in reclosing the door and calling the police, though not all or my neighbors were as lucky. In retaliation, apparently they crushed the upper portion of my pick-up, completely obliterating the topper and crushing the roof of the cab down to hood level, as well as destroying the hood, the side panels, and all the tires. I have no idea how, and though the vandals were arrested, the damage was done.

I dreamed that my kids woke me up in the middle of the night shouting "McCain won. McCain won." (In our family, this counts as a nightmare) So I ran downstairs and grabbed the channel changer which was a completely new channel changer and I couldn't figure out how to work it and I am desperately pressing buttons and the channel won't change to a channel covering the election . . .

I woke up with my heart pounding!
