Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person
I never am lucid, I think.
Double question: Do you think you are likeable? And... do you think this is important?

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person
I hope so. Sometimes I think it matters entirely TOO much to me that people like me.
Q: What do you not like about yourself? (I hate the fact that I worry so much that people might not like me that sometimes I do things that I really don't want to do just to make other people think I'm nicer than I really am. But then, if I weren't always trying to please everybody, then I'd probably never do any favors for anybody, and everybody would know, then, how selfish I really am... and I hate that I'm selfish, too. Catch-22, isn't it?

D. You are tying yourself up in knots. Go a little easier on yourself.
Someone pointed out this "child of the universe" thing to me a while back:
Someone pointed out this "child of the universe" thing to me a while back:
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Oh my, I haven't seen or heard the Desiderata quoted in years.

Now just wait, someone will quote the Deteriorata.

What don't I like about myself? You know, I haven't thought about that much for awhile. Fighting cancer sort of shoves things like that to the side. In younger days people seemed to feel free to tell me where they thought I needed improvement. Nowadays not so much. This made me wish I were more assertive. Meh.
Q: What's good about getting older?

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Not bloody much! Pushing 40, I can say it's harder to keep my weight down, menopause is on the horizon and the idea is kinda scary, and gravity...well it's just EVIL!! On the other hand, I think as you get older you gain the wisdom to choose your battles and you just don't sweat the same stuff you did in your 20s.

Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person
Well English, my first language, and I want to say Hmong and Thai (two Asian languages) but that's not entirely true. I could ONCE speak Hmong and Thai. I would need to refresh my memory to be able to do it 20 years later, but I'm sure it would come right back. As for all those European languages I supposedly learned in a classroom:? (French, Spanish, German). I could maybe read those languages once upon a time, but never could speak or understand them.
Question: What saying would you consider tatooing on yourself?
For instance the motto of our astronomy club is a line from a poem. The line is written on the grave marker of Pittsburgh astronomer John Brasher (his ashes are buried in the peir of a giant telescope still in use at Allegheny Observatory in Pittsburgh).
The saying is "I have loved the stars too fondly to fear the night."
I like that! And it's a little Trekkie, without being silly.

Reading anything that drops on my hands.
Q: If you could live in any country, which one will it be and why?

So, what country would I most want to live in?
When I was younger, it was all about the US of A for me. I used to watch MTV religiously and just wish that I lived in California, New York or some other suitably 'cool' location. My mum once told me that when my parents were considering moving out of Nigeria, my dad had asked her to make the final decision on where to live. (He'd been given a scholarship to study Engineering and Telecommunications at Imperial College, London or would join the Marines (I think) as an Engineer in America). My mum said she chose England because she'd heard that guns were illegal over here.
I didn't speak to my mum again for 2 days, when I heard that! (I was only 9 at the time).
Now though, whilst New York still has a place in my heart, I think that I'd rather live in France - preferably in the South West wine region. I don't actually like alcohol, but I've just returned from Bordeaux and have fallen in love with it. You've got all the amenities of a city, but all the charm and appeal of a large town. Unlike other touristy areas, you can't rely on English and wild gesticulations to get by. Finally, everyone (and I mean everyone) that I met was absolutely beautiful! I definitely like eye candy when going about my daily business.
The next question: You've just written a best-selling autobiography. What's the title?

Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person
But I feel most guilty about Ludicris's "Get Out the Way!" Some horrible rap song about how you're going to run someone over with your speeding car if they don't "Get out the Way!" You can't help but sing along with this horrible song. I'll go google the lines. Oh dear. Only know this song with all the bad words bleeped out. I can't link to this song! LOL
I'm drunk. Hardly ever drive sober.
So you about to get run the BLEEP over.
MOVE *scream*
Get out the way!
MOVE *scream*
Get out the way!
Is there a bumper on your BLEEP? Then get the BLEEP out of my way!
I want to ask Aquarius, What aren't we going to beleive? You can't leave it at that!! Now I'm curious.
But here is my lame question. Do you like hugs from friends? (Me, no. I'll stand over here and wave at you.) How about kissing strangers on both cheeks when you meet at a party? (This is a new thing in the United States among like artsy people.)

Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person
I like hugs from good friends. I don't mind hugs from not-so-good friends as long as they're not some perverted old friend of my father's that's hugging a little too hard. What I really hate is the "should we hug or not okay maybe better not boy isn't this awkward" routine.
Kissing both cheeks is for the French. We're Americans, damn it. Defense de double cheek kissing! One cheek, okay. Air kissing is even worse, though -- I think most Americans consider that the "actually, I hate your guts and I'm also so shallow I don't want to mess up my makeup" greeting.
Q: Which friend do you most regret losing touch with?
