It may be of interest for any one or may inspire some one who is writing about the Vulcan parlement or something.
- no registration, everybody who can vote gets a vote-card in the mail with your name, birth date and place where you can vote. If you can't vote for any reason, you can sign the card on the back to give some one else the right to vote for you.
- Electionday is always on a Wednesday, the most neutral day of the week.
- Every vote counts. The number of votes are divided by 150 - that number is the election threshold. There are 150 seats in parlement. When a party gets 2x election threshold, they get 2 members of that party in the parlement etc. The party with the most members in parlement, is the winning party and delivers the prime minister.
- The winning party is the basic of the new coalition, because no party has enough seats in parlement to rule alone. A coalition-government is formed.
- We have about 10 parties in parlement.
- Most coalitions are formed by two big parties and one small one.
- Compromise is the basic of Dutch politics.

I could go on, but that would be very boring....
I leave you with one Dutch saying "When you don't vote, you have no right to complain", (after the election that is).
So enjoy your democratic right to vote
