It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Generational moment: My son-in-law was impressed that I had an MP3 player (which he discovered because it fell out of my purse). Then he looked at my play list. The horror!

I just checked his age to see if I was old enough to his mother. Not quite... :raspberry:

So, what's on your play list that's so awful?

I just got an ipod shuffle for my birthday. Yay. Not to figure out how it works...

Well, I have "You Are My Sunshine" from the soundtrack for O Brother Where Art Thou. It's hard to get any more uncool than that, which my son-in-law quickly noted!

So I figured out how to use it but it's time I went in there and edited my stuff carefully. For example, "Accidentally in Love" might be great in a video but I discovered I don't enjoy just listening to it.

An awful lot of TnT video music DOES end up in my play list, though. And I don't mind going and paying for a good copy and giving the musicians some income for their efforts. I wish there was a good single copy of Nick Cave's "Into My Arms" to be purchased somewhere (without the whole anthology it comes on) because I just love it in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s90FaK_UUp4 but the sound quality is not good.

What I find annoying is that I bought and paid for a Moby CD years ago because I like a number of the tracks on it ... but can I save it on my computer or my MP3 player? No! It somehow erases the tracks after I rip them. So I have to go steal the songs off youtube if I don't want to pay for them twice? Doesn't it just figure that this is a CD from a guy who arguably built his career sampling other people's stuff????

I'm sure there's a way around this but I haven't figured this out yet.

Happy birthday! Right after Christmas, wow.

The pendant sounds nice, Distracted. And hey, it could be worse - you might be about the same age as the next president, but you could be the next president and have to deal with all sorts of insanely complex problems.

This is probably going to sound a little convoluted but it might be worth a try. This is how my best friend and I get around iTunes drm or whatever it's called--whatever's encoded into a song that will limit who can play it, save it, etc.

All we do is burn them onto a cd. Hand said cd over to the other person, and then she can load the songs into her own iTunes account, without the other person "authorizing" her computer or mp3 player to play them.

So I'm wondering if maybe if you just burn a second copy of the Moby cd, the copied one might load itself onto your computer without trying to eat itself like it does from the original.

BTW which Moby cd is it? I only have "Early Underground" but it's one of my favorites. 8)

Play -- another case where a TV show pointed me at something I never would have paid attention to on my own. (X-Files used a couple of tracks.) Hopeful Romantic has a very nice general Enterprise video using one of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgG47OAc ... annel_page

So thanks, I'll see if that works.

Okay. If it doesn't work, send me a PM. My s.o. is a computer guy--he does network security for a living, so if anyone would know how to hack the cd so you can save it to your computer, it'd be him. I'd have just asked him now 'cept he's not home...

I have Play (pirated) in a CD (it's a DVD, and I have all the albums, I think, but for this, it's the same.) Maybe I can upload the songs in 4shared if you want (that way you could upload them with their "original" quality and not youtube quality). Let me know if I can help you with that.
