Sorry! Still recovering from last night's salon Christmas party (we had it in January on purpose)...it was too much typing at the time so I abbreviated!
At my place everyone calles me "AQ" now because they're too lazy to spell out "Aquarius".

Sorry! Still cobwebby over here, apparently!
By "my place," I meant my Han/Leia forum I run. My friend Sue runs a multifandom forum, and we are friends with other admins of forums...so when talking to each other it kind of becomes "my place," "your place," etc.
Not enough caffeine yet today...
And no...nobody calls me Aquarius in person...except sometimes at the Media West con because that's the only name they know me by.
I'm all incognito or something.

I was probably called Elessar at the Cherry Hill Con but I don't remember.
And I've probably been called Elessar at a LAN before, IDK.

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!
I kept calling Distracted "Dis" at the con, forgetting to use her real name.

At this point I probably would answer to Aquarius! I've been writing under that name for over five years now, it's almost as much a part of me as my real name.

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!
yeah, me too.
That was one thing I lOVED about the Non-Con in Dallas this summer....every third person you talk to, it's like you post as WHO? OhmiGAD! I'm So-and-So! You ARE???? (insert female giggling and stranger-hugging here)
As someone who last went to a con in 1995, it was kind of really aMAZing to feel the power and influence of the internet over all things. not necessarily all for the good, either, but sure was an interesting difference to note from a "cultural" point of view.
Isn't it weird when you sometimes suddenly realise/see yourself as participating right IN your current culture, as if seen from someone simply reading about it? Does that make any sense?

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!
I submitted a story to Triaxian Silk for the first time and just discovered this BBS. So here's my intro!
Screen name: EntAllat
Real name, gender, location, profession (only if you want to):
Female, Texas, anthropologist and techie (web development)
I've got a little bit more here:
http://www.fanfiction.net/~entallat
Are you here as a reader, writer, or both?
Of the BBS? I might pop in a few times - when I remember to - and post if I have some nifty info. (I'm much better about keeping up with email listservs than forums, unfortunately. If I can figure out how to get alerts to new posts I might be back more often.)
Of fan fiction? I've been a reader for decades, but I'm only now writing some. (I'd really like to submit a full-fledged manuscript to Simon and Schuster's line of Star Trek novel, but I've got a lot of polishing do with regards to my writing to do before that happens.)
How did you first become a fan of Star Trek?
My dad loved TOS and so I saw reruns of TOS when I was a kid. Picked up my first Star Trek novel when I was in junior high and was really hooked. I've seen, and loved, every incarnation of Trek since then. My favorite is Enterprise, but I'm a relative newcomer to it. I couldn't get UPN (the network that Enterprise was broadcast on) in my area when it was first airing, so the first time I actually saw the show was March of 2008, when it aired on HDNET.
Are you interested in any other fandoms?
I am a fan of a lot of stuff but not really involved in any other fandoms, no.
What's your favorite Enterprise fanfic?
I'm still reading and deciding that.
I've a lot of favorites at this point, but they are mostly Trip and Malcolm centric. I would love pointers to some of whatever you think are the best stories on Triaxian silk!
What was the last book you read?
Non-fiction? (Not counting anything for grad school...) "Dreams from My Father" by Barack Obama
Fiction? "A Conspiracy of Paper" by David Liss
What else? Um, if any of you use Twitter, I'm the ringleader of some ENT fic/RP there. (If anyone thinks they may be up to RPing T'Pol or Hoshi, email me!) More info about it here:
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ddzdn8gc_0cn5xfwgz
I guess that's about it.

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!
Welcome! If you do a search under "fanfic recs" or "recommended fanfic" you'd probably find some threads on that. Of course, most of the faves here are TnT-centric.

OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
