It's this snoopy spoon we've had forever.

I remember once when my sister or someone was over and I was serving dinner and my great big teenager goes, "Hey! Where's my favorite spoon!" LOL And my sister goes, "What's a favorite spoon?" That's the last I heard about the favorite spoon. LOL

When it comes to Facebook, I could really do without the underage nieces or have-kids-or-are-pregnant-and-ought-to-know-better nieces talking about their love lives and posting pictures of themselves partying. Although it can be kind of sick fun watching the other nieces telling them to just shut up already.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

 Funny!

I have a love-ambivalence relationship with Facebook. It's good for keeping in touch with people from college since we graduated, and keeping in touch with Aussie friends. But it's annoying when I get invited to compare results on five different quizzes by the same person. I always ignore those.

It says a lot about our society that when a car is caught between two trains, everyone whipped out their phone camera.

^ Okay sorry but that's seriously retarded. What the frell :wtf: punctuation exists for a reason and even if the name of a place "denotes inaccurate possession" it's still what it's called whether it's punctuated or not, why don't you change the name of the street to something that doesn't REQUIRE punctuation, which would still make very little sense but at least it makes more sense than what they're doing. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: But THIS part especially just makes me wanna go there and hit someone on the head:

"Apostrophes denote possessions that are no longer accurate, and are not needed," he said. "More importantly, they confuse people. If I want to go to a restaurant, I don't want to have an A-level (high school diploma) in English to find it."

SERIOUSLY?? What the frell is wrong with y'all do you have to be a frelling HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE to know how to use proper grammar?? Why don't you just go and change all the street signs to chatspeak while you're at it?? And this person works for the GOVERNMENT?? No wonder the world's becoming more and more depraved. That's like in Idiocracy. :wtf: :explode: For crying out loud those harmless little punctuation marks didn't confuse ME when I was 2 years old, AND I'M DYSLEXIC!! But I DO get confused when they're NOT where they're supposed to be. :explode: :wtf: :bitch:

As an editor (also in my RL I'm an editor) my goal at all times is 1) to be sure the readers will understand what the writer is saying, 2) make sure the numbers on the tables and figures match the discussion, and 3) make it sound good. (I edit economics papers, so clarity is priority #1.) So my biggest contribution, as I see it, is to write back to the authors' and say, "Sorry, I just lost you here. Explain this part to me again so we can fix it." Then if I misplace a comma once in a while, I can totally forgive myself.

And that's why we absolutely love you as an editor :D

Punctuation sticklers will LOVE this book:

Eats, Shoots, and Leaves

By a British stickler, it's hilarious.
