She's being so good, it's heartbreaking. She's doing really well, but we're STILL HERE. It's been 72 hours now. :? She has a cold and is real phlegmy and so they are just helping her along with some asthma meds to open her lungs a bit and some oxygen to keep her blood O2 % nice and high. No fever, no pneumonia, no infection. Thank goodness!

The bed/foldout thing for me is HARD and my neck HURTS. >:( Also, I am not the patient (tho I'm sick with the same cold) and so they give me NO FOOD. Luckily Priso's braving his sore mansack pain (see whine thread :lol:) to bring me Subway. I don't usually like Subway, but in the hospital it's perfect.

I feel much worse for the other, really sick kids on the ward, walking around with their little oxygen carts and IV poles. Or unable to leave their rooms. :( So sad. I can't imagine.

I have my laptop ( a new HP2133 netbook! woohoo!) and I could see there were like FIVE wireless networks...all of them PASSWORD proetcted, the buggers! I mean come ON! It's 2009. Let patients use the bloody stupid internet!!!

But then I heard one of the boys on the ward mention the password for the classrom connection. Bwhahahahahaaaaa! And here I am. Such a rebel.

Good for you. My stepdaughter was going absolutely nuts after a week in the hospital with her little one. They were lucky to live just a block away, though, so it was fairly easy for her husband to pop over and spell her.

They're giving the good old nebulizer treatments? That was what every cold was like for my son until he grew out of it. I wish they'd invent cheap portable oxygen meters for parents. I never was very good at telling when he was really wheezing or just coughing.

I remember little J. when he was in like fourth grade he swollowed a quarter and had to have it extracted surgically with some kind of long grabber. So He spent a night in the hospital and I slept on one of those chair-beds. And the next day he got to watch TV nonstop (instead of the usual 2 hour maximum) and when the nurse came by and asked him how he was doing, he shouted "I'm still sick!" She looked so startled and I go, "Translation: he's enjoying this program." lol . . . Oh dear . . . well, try to enjoy the enforced relaxation. :?

I actually can't believe how freshfaced and naive we look. Aureilia had only been tormenting us for 107 days or so. Now it's been about 1300 days. Plus the last 3 months with the whole double team action of preschooler+baby. :lol: When Lee and I look at that picture, we feel like we look like we've aged a lot more than 3 years in the last 3 years. Ahh, well. :lol:
