Heh, give me 10mins and I'll turn it into a (somewhat) working dialog box!

After a few minutes of fun with QT Designer, I have come up with this...

I have the QT source-code if anyone wants it.

Last I heard you could still get Red Hat for free.
If I could I'd download it.
Don't really have a machine I can put it on right now.

Well, I'm running Fedora Core 3, wich is now very much out of date (Core 6 has been released), and yes, it's still free. (Fedora Website

Well, my skill with either the GIMP or with Photoshop is pretty limited. (I.e. I'm pretty rubbish)

Linux will always be free, by definition. It is licensed under Open Source. Which means that the people who own the copyright have made sure that no one will ever be able to hogtie it.
There are as many different Linux distros out there as there are people tinkering with computers. Personally, I use SimplyMEPIS (Making Everything Perform In Style) and I love it. But to each their own. MEPIS is a good one for a beginner because you can download and burn a free bootable CD and try it out without installing anything to your hard drive. If you like it, you can install it. Or you can continue using it forever as a bootable CD if you prefer. If nothing else, it makes a handy dandy tool for bypassing any and all Windows security measures on any computer that allows you to boot from the CD drive.

Love the Windows alert!
All of this stuff is like magic to me. I managed a few decent signature bars, but when you actually manipulate the images, it's beyond me.
