^ Well from what I understand, thru the 70s and 80s, the BBC had like NO money, so even cool shows like Doctor Who had the production value of a high school play.

Yeah, that would fit. What they did have, they'd blow on the Jane Austen costume dramas and such. (Not that I minded that, but they didn't come along that often.)
And of course, BBC didn't have commercials. Just a license you had to buy, which I never quite figured out.

Unlike now, when it has massively cool things. I LOVED the whole effect they had going in the season finale when humans went outside and saw the other planets in the sky.Aquarius wrote:^ Well from what I understand, thru the 70s and 80s, the BBC had like NO money, so even cool shows like Doctor Who had the production value of a high school play.

Re: AHHH!!!!! *HAPPY JUMP*
The "Journey's End" they showed on BBC America made me a little mad, though, because I saw the entire (longer than usual) episode in Australia, and here they cut most of the bits that gave it emotional impact.

Re: AHHH!!!!! *HAPPY JUMP*
Yeah, I noticed that. The version they showed on Sci-Fi channel had more stuff. By the time it rolled around to BBCA, I was severely disappointed to discover that the whole scene where the TARDIS has lost power and they're crapping their pants because they're about to go out and face the Daleks was GONE!!!

And they cut most of the end, including
I am waiting for the Christmas special to be available.
SPOILER!!!:
the scene where he explains why he had to wipe Donna's memory, which just made him out as a bit capricious. And when Wilf tells him he'll look up and remember on Donna's behalf - that's when I cried the hardest!
