Re: New Fanfiction System Feedback
It's worse than mushed together, I can't even read one of the lines. (In IE.) Very strange.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

Re: New Fanfiction System Feedback
This seems to be a universal issue across the site, including the archive (not the mushed line, just the total lack of paragraph spacing). Mike??

Yeah, I noticed that, too, after I posted that. Before commenting on your latest chapter I checked out other chapters to see if they were affected, and sure enough they were.

Ummm... Lerteiran's all crammed together now, too. Could somebody have changed a master code somewhere and affected everything? Maybe changed the same master code that was making all the stories post with double spaces between paragraphs?

Whatever it was, it looks back to normal now. (Thanks, whoever.) And thanks for the paragraphs in the comment boxes!

That might have been my fault! I mean by proxy, anyway.
I told MIke that it appeared that all spacing on the site was extremely wide. Like, we had a big "double spacing" issue going on. That's why any story submitted with an actual new line between paragraphs was like HUGELY divided and stories without a line break actually looked like in WORD they DID have a line break.
Well, he was probably toying with settings to see what looked right and what didn't and you guys saw some funky looking spacing in the process. That would be my guess, but I'm glad it's back to normal.

Re: New Fanfiction System Feedback
It appears that the huge spacing between paragraphs in the comments is back, after my experience of just having left feedback for Chapter 19 of "The Locum."

I made a change, so when you or someone next makes a long comment please let me know so I can check it so I can see if it worked.
Re: New Fanfiction System Feedback
I went back to Chapter 19 of "The Locum." It's still gappy in the comments section.

Well the changes aren't retroactive... so are you saying the previous comments are still gappy (which is how it would be even if he fixed it) or did you post a new comment that is still all gappy?
I posted a new comment on YMAM III to display the width.

Once again it was a matter of a fix I implemented conflicting with a fix I forgot to take out

I know it's not retroactive. sorry, I was hurrying and should've been clearer: the new comments since then were the ones that were gappy.
Either way, looks like Mike fixed it now so it's all good.

Re: New Fanfiction System Feedback
Comments have been repaired for The Locum - Chapter 4 and Commander Tucker Falls in Love - Chapter 2.
Please inform Elessar if you notice missing or incorrectly placed comments. If a story has comments for another story on it, it is likely because as it was added, the incorrect comment ID# was entered. This can be easily fixed. I will do my best to restore the old comments (pre-new system) and retain any new comments that have been entered into the new page, but the problem is, comments are usually pretty vague and don't say, "I loved Chapter 3 of ___(story title)___!" so it may be hard to know which ones to keep. If it's your own story and you know which comments are about yours and which aren't, any insight would be helpful in allowing me to restore everything accurately.
No comments on a story that once had them is usually easy to fix, too. It's likely just linking to a comment page that doesn't exist or is shared by another story that just has no comments.
