This is the first time I've seen scurvy in a fic!
No wonder most Vulcans didn't seem to have time to learn basic human pleasantries, Trip thought. They were too busy innoculating themselves against the Bubonic Plague.
That is too wonderful.

Nice interaction between the three of them.

That's the thing about scurvy -- you never know where you'll find it! ;)

Also, "screw with T'Pol's food" is, like, a genre!?? *dies dead of laugh*

I wanted to repost this on my livejournal, but I can't think of a title except for double dog dare and really, I'm not sure even I can pun that hard.

Well, *I've* always considered it a genre...and if it isn't, it should be! Maybe we can get Elessar to add it to the list. (What do you say, Boss???)

Seriously. New. Best. Friend.

I'm home sick today (for actual reals, too! I was just joking last night about the need for plotbunnymentalhealthday) and seriously, I can't stop laughing despite the, you know, heightened chance for tossing my cookies.

:guffaw: :guffaw: Oh, it's brilliant, Little Red, just brilliant!

You made me laugh, which I shouldn't because my ribs are very sensitive and it hurts like hell. But I think it's worth it!

Little Red wrote:With T'Pol's superior Vulcan hearing (which she reminds him about every single time she catches him muttering numbers aloud as he works), Trip knows that T'Pol only asks people to repeat themselves when she's trying to sound especially non-emotionally incredulous.

From this on, it's been all laughters :D

:D  I particularly enjoyed the running gag with Archer's throat-clearing and T'Pol's assertion that she doesn't understand them any better after she takes a bite.

There was some discussion a while back about announcing our challenge stories in the thread, so my April 'Anticipation' story is in the Library At P'Jem. It is a Soval-centric tale suggested to me by a comment from Dinah. Soon it should say by bluetiger instead of Linda, but that's a whole other story. Please check it out if you have time.

Thanks, bluetiger

:D I'm sorry to be late! :D
Here goes:

Overheard: An Interrupted Soliloquy

Ahh, the early morning - the freshness of the new day – the soft rustle of the garden’s foliage in the small breeze – the dim and tender light before the rising of the suns and the bright heat of the day. It is…quite satisfactory. Surely T’Khasi is the most beau…now what!? A small creature seems to be blundering about in the bushes outside the garden wall. All I can see at the moment is its head.

(!)

I know of no beast of Vulcan with shining golden fur. Or blue eyes.

Of course. It is my neighbor’s child. It was inevitable. I have come to anticipate these interruptions. They have become almost part of my daily routine.

“Tobeg-tor, Tela’at.”

“Ha, Tvi-okh’kan?”

“Have you seen my sehlat?”

“You have lost your sehlat, child? That is most unusual. Sehlats are the most loyal of creatures.”

“I yelled at her and she…she…ran away!”

The blue eyes fill with tears. I am too old for this.

“Calm yourself, child. Surely your mother has taught you rudimentary suppression of emotion. Crying will not serve to bring your pet back. Sit down and breathe quietly. Like this.”

A moment passes.

“Now, tell me what happened.”

“Taluhk – that’s my sehlat, ate Zihn – that’s…that was, my K’Bet. I was angry, and yelled at her. And she ran away.”

“Has your mother taught you what Surak says of anger?”

“Ummm…do you mean “Where anger is present, understanding cannot be,”Tela’at?”

“Well, that saying will do as well as any of the others. You know that your sehlat is a predator – a carnivore? Is it rational to berate her for this?”

“No. I know that, but I don’t know how to make her come b-back!”

“Sit here and meditate upon forgiveness, child. And strive for less vehemence of expression. Taluhk will sense your thoughts and return to you.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Thank you, Tela’at.”

“The education of the young is the duty of the old, child. No thanks are necessary.”

I am really too old for this.

Awe that was so cute! How Denis the Menace but not. I want that little guy! Dang need a husband first. :duh: OK I'll try.... Um this will be full of mistakes no beta for this...

Trip Tucker was on his way to the mess with a singular objective that nothing would get in the way of; he needed pie! Of course, not just any pie, he needed the golden, gooey, crunchy, nutty sweetness that was pecan pie. The past month had been a roller coaster of epic proportions, he was almost completely drained physically, mentally, and emotionally. He'd been rejected by the love of his life, transfered away form his home and best friends, only to be pulled in again by his mind refusing to let go of his heart's desire. Then he had to go help save his home and friends after the Klingons nearly destroyed his engines. Finally after all that he nearly gets assaulted by fiendish Orion sex slaves, and discovers that he's mentally and physiologically bound to the love of his life. Trip Tucker needed pie his soul was hungry and there was no way he was dealing with anything until it was fed. He didn't have much time either, T'Pol was waiting for him so they could decide what to do about this mating bond. He knew she loved him, he wasn't stupid. He had figured that out when she married Koss, but loving him didn't mean she was willing to stay with him. No he was not going to think about that until he had pie. Entering the mess he went straight to where Chef kept his famous golden goodness, only to find none!

"What the heck! Where is the blasted pie?!" he shouted in in severe desperation. To be so close to his goal only to have it snatched away was cruelty in it's severest form.

Right away a Steward came out. "I'm sorry Commander can I help you find something?"

"Yeah you can tell me where a starving man can find some pecan pie! I know that chef made a few of them when I came back so where are they?" he demanded in a surly voice.

"Sir I believe the last one was requested by someone just a little while ago. I don't know who as my shift just started." said the helpless crewman who was more than a little nervous being the focus of the Tucker Temper.

"Great it's official, something is trying to drive me insane!" Trip snapped.

Just before the crewman could reply Trip's communicator went off, "T'Pol to Commander Tucker."

Sighing Trip responded, "Tucker here. Look I know I'm late but I really needed a piece of pie and since there isn't any I'll be right there."

"Understood. T'Pol out."

"Great now I have to deal with T'Pol lecturing me on courtesy because I'm late yet again. Never mind Crewman, no rest for the weary." He barked as he stormed out.

As he made his way to T'Pol's quarters, Trip was certain he wouldn't be able to face the coming confrontation. It would have been hard with pie, without it, he didn't want to think about it. Reaching her door, he hesitated before activating the chime.

"Enter"

Trip walked in and his eyes widened at the sight before him. Her room was filled with more candles than he had ever seen, the pillows were arranged for nuropressure, and on her desk was a huge pecan pie with fresh whipped cream in a chilled container. And there was T'Pol dressed in her blue silk pajamas, waiting for him with a smile beaming in her eyes. Trip was stunned speechless.

"You have been under so much stress lately that I thought it prudent to make sure you were provided with everything to help alleviate it. Chef was kind enough to let me acquire an entire pie for the two of us. That is if you do not object to sharing it with me." she said with a soft shy voice.

Trip smiled a grin so large it almost rivaled Phlox. He went to her took her in his arms and finally got to give her a kiss. "Never darling! Now let's eat I've needed this all day."

I hope that's ok considering I wrote it off the cuff.

Pecan Pie is something I worship along with Mr. Tucker, so I had to do something about it. But the stuff is even better with chocolate!

First, I found both stories really pleasant.
Second, You're a tempter devil, Aquarius.
Maybe I will write something about your suggestions, but "Depths", and "Human Mood", and "In the Hall of the Mountain King" are waiting since such a long time. :D
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
