As you should :) I remember that when I saw Episode III in the theater, there were a bunch of nerds sat down just behind and when Windu said that the jedi "should take control of the Senate for a peaceful transition" ( :wtf:) one of the nerds said out loud: "No, Pinky, no." :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: It was simply priceless.

I think T'Pau's threat could be great if, as I've said, the idea would have been to show us how a group with the best intentions can become the same enemy their trying to defeat. But it wasn't, so it's a little... gratuitous.

But the Vulcans are the "good guys." Oh and don't ask me what I think of Anakin, the answer will cause you to... :faint:

Not sure what there was there to lose anybody...appreciation for Escriba's breakdown of the scenes, and references to two Star Wars characters while doing it? I thought she was freaking hilarious, and more importantly, I thought she was right, sarcasm and all.

What I meant was what do Mace and Anakin have to do with T'Pol?

Because apparently Escriba saw some parallels between the behaviors of the people T'Pol was talking to in the given scenes, and these particular SW Prequel characters. And I thought it was funny.

Don't look at me. I didn't write it.

No I think it's great but I don't understand the referece. Believe me if you want to know what I think of Mace and Anakin I'll PM you. I just don't see the connection to the Vulcan Arc. :?

Nah, I don't wanna get started on Prequel stuff. Suffice it to say those films' only redeeming qualities were Palpatine and Obi-Wan.

Any way, if you want to ask Escriba what she meant, go for it. In my experience, by the time you have to explain the joke, it isn't funny any more, any way.

So very true... But anyway, let's try.

The reference to Mace Windu is there because I see an analogy between T'Les trying to explain how their methods (threatening to use the force) and VHC's methods are different and Mace Windu trying to make us believe that Jedis taking the Senate by the force (no pun intended) is any bit different to Palpatine ruling it in a de facto dictatorship. In the two cases, T'Les and Mace Windu think they're right because they're the good guys and anything they do is right.

The Anakin Skywalker reference comes from the little speech T'Les gives to T'Pol, basically telling her that all of this is her fault ("I came here. I did all this to help you.") Compare it with Anakin telling Padme that he did all of that for her, to protect her.

Thought: suppose T'Pau's accent hasn't changed so much as the UT's rendering of her speech has changed?

Anyway, I liked the Vulcan arc fairly well, Super!Archer aside, but Escriba's version still amused me. :)

I always thought that T'Pau didn't have an accent in Enterprise because she is actually speaking in Vulcan (and we hear her in English thanks to the translators), while in TOS she is talking in English and hence the accent.

I like the Vulcan arc too! It was just an attempt to make silly fun of it :D

I get it now. But I LIKE Anakin and T'Les. I didn't think T'Les was BLAMING T'Pol for anything. I just didn't like how they just suddenly said "Oh let's make T'Les a Syrranite!" No forwarning, or mention of these people or anything during the series, It's all so abrupt. It's stupid, and I really hated the production value of Enterprise.

Okay, now I am going to have to watch the Arc completely. Saw some of it.

First thing. It should have been TRIP who accompanied T-Pol not Archer.

Trip had been on vulcan had experienced it's gravity, rarified atmosphere and heat. He knw t-Les and was close to t-Pol even if she was married to Koss.

ARcher who was the senior Starfleet Officer on Vulcan had to lead the investigatin because he had the authorit to speak for Starfleet. Trip did not.

It didn't matter that ARcher did not get along with Soval. He would have to had to deal with the VHC and the Vulcan High command. Trip didn't have the rank or authirity to do that. ARcher (in reality at least) would have been ordered to stay on site to lead the investigation. But he goes off with t-Pol leaving Trip holding the bag.

Second. Archer defeating the three Vulcan commandos. they lived on Vulcan were used to it's gravity and atmosphere. Archer did not. Also they wre trained fighters Archer wasn't really. Yet he defeats them.

that turned me off and I stopped watching the arc.

Oh you should have finished it. You have good points but Trip in command was so amazing CT was brilliant. Ignore Archer and it was very good. Accept T'Pol was once again ignored a lot.

Warpgirl. How can you ignore Archer. He is all over the place. Like ignoring the 500 pound gorrila sitting in your living room. You don't want him there but you cannot get rid of him.

I still say the Arc would have been better if Trip had accompanied t-Pol. I know that Trip was protrayed as weak in th desert but he would have t-Pol as a companion and she would have known what to bring along and what Trip needed to survive in the forge. Archer, of course, being Superman didn't need such mundane things.

Suppose it had been t-Pol who carried Surack Kantra or whtever it ws called? Better choice.

I understand that Trip was again briliant as the commander of Enterprise and once again prevented a shooting war between the Vulcans and andorians. and again probably didn't even get an attaboy for it.
