I know I'm not the first person to say this, but I thought Season 3 was a refreshing change for ST because the good guys sometimes knowingly did bad things for the cause, which to me is just realistic in that situation instead of their usual strategy of "let's try to write a nice clean politically correct solution into every script with a nice moral we can drive home in the last act." I just wish they'd shown more consequences -- not so much legal or career consequences, since I think those things are going to happen in wartime, more than civilians will ever know -- but personal. That crew should be coping with some pretty dark stuff, the officers more than anyone. Instead, we just got Trip freaking out about his sister, T'Pol on drugs and Archer having a little PTSD in Home. Then again, those three all seemed pretty new for ST too, at least to me.

TNG had that one episode where Picard goes home after the Borg thing, actually, which I thought was pretty powerful -- but that trauma wasn't really caused by any of his own choices.

...As far as Trip's reaction, yeah, I think he'd be a bit freaked out by the whole thing, but he'd get over it.

I have some peculiar ideas about that, and also about Sim himself. I don't think he died so "placidly".
I hope one day I will be able to show these ideas with some certain stories which are twirling in my mind.
For now, I would be pleased to see your reactions in regard to T'Pol's feelings toward Sim in my "Human Mood - Chapter Three!, which is in Linda's hands, now, in order to be edited.

I don't mind unethical decisions either but I NEED them to have far-reaching unavoidable consequences. I would have been happy with ANY. I wanted an episode that said nothing was OK even if it was necessary it was WRONG, and it's not going to go away.

Unfortunately I am a perfectionist who would like to get published one day and I have a need to make it good. So yeah it's stressful but good stress. I have to finish Ch4 tonight, preferably before 3am.

Well, try to relax a little. One, first drafts by their very nature are never perfect. Two, you CAN'T publish Star Trek except to fans so this can ONLY be practice. Three, why bother if it's not fun?

I would argue the same about trying to get real stuff written and published. Even if you make it into print, it's unlikely to pay enough for you to ever quit a day job. You really have to just love it.

Anyone ever think of writing Sim from T-Pol's POV and making it a love story between TnT?
Could be done even if Trip is in a coma.

I never did click on the Sim T-Pol thing. Did not make a whole lot of sense to me. Unless it was done by the writers as a one time romantic thing with T-Pol.
