I repeat, and I hope I do not appear too insistent. It's useless and vain, in my opinion, to debate if T'Pol acts as a Vulcan or not, if the writers would have made her different. Honestly, if she was different, I wouldn't have loved her.
For once, I thank the writers. Only, they would have understood that there's something else besides angst in a love story. Only that.

I'm sorry Warpgirl but I don't see it as Un-Vulcan to see it as logical and their only choice to steal that warp core. Do you do something you find morally wrong and potentially save billions of people and several species including your own or do you let the inconvenience to a ship full of beings stop you. They weren't going to die and you gave them extra food and Trelium D to line the hull and there's also the possibility that they would find them later and return the warp coil, which unfortunately the writers didn't think to do.

Making a moral judgement when you have time to think about it and pponder it is one thing but when you have only a minute to make that judgement then more than morality comes into to play emotions play a part.

Vulcans after Surak do not believe the end justifies the means. Yeah you can rationalize it all you want but Archer was willing to put an end to any resistence they ran into on that ship. It was wrong and could have resulted in willfull murder. The needs of the many isn't about trampling down a few innocents, it means putting the greater picture before your personal desires, or accepting losses of your own people. Not innocent bystanders.

Because if they used only logic that would turn them into psychos. Yes, of course. But "the end doesn't justifies the means" is a set phrase. What end? Which means? Morality is terribly subjetive.

I just can't see the Vulcans saying you can't take that warp core instead you have to let a whole planet possibly a whole quadrant be remade to accommodate the guardians. and kill the current occupants. You take every precaution you can and try not to inflict any harm but you do what you have to do to save billions of people.
