Strange, in my memory I can see Trip punching in numbers on T-Pol's door Combo.

If it was just a Thumbprint he would jamb his thumb on to a reader and the door would unlock. Or at least that Is what I think would happen.

Whe rajiin returned to the Xindi and showed them what she had gleaned she did not mention or show the xindi anything about Vulcan or her bio info that obtaied about T-Pol. Xindi did not aske her anything about Vulcans. they might not have been aware that a Vulcan was on board. cut certainly rajiin would have told them that T-Pol was on board and that she had got Vulcan Vio Information.

Normally I wouldn't argue but I just saw it yesterday, and I have that pesky memory. As for Rajin who knows what her objective was. She might have just gotten it to sell to another "master" but I prefer to call them clients.

Trip did use his thumbprint and wouldn't he as third in command have command codes to override locks.to most any door on board the ship?

Well in all the other ST's with the exception of ENT and TNG the Security Officer is third-in-command. Anyway it still wouldn't be allowed for the Chief to use the code without authorization. Obviously T'Pol gave trip authorization.

He didn't just go in. He tried the chime and when she didn't respond he commed and had them locate her. He was told she was in her quarters and then he heard her yell 'no' I believe and he went in. It would have been considered an emergency when he heard her yell so he was authorized. He was a senior officer so I would think with Malcolm there were four people who had access in an emergency.

But it wasn't the first time he had done so. And like I said he knocked because he knew she was there.

He went in to get the peach but that would have been an emergency also. Not like he could ask for her permission to go get the DNA Phlox needed to cure her.

Usually a security officer would do that though, if we're talking about the chain of command. Yeah I get that there were extreme circumstances, but it's just unusual for an engineer to use his override privilges on personal quarters.

Nice thought, but as the Chief Engineer, Trip might well have override authority on ALL the ship's doors.

We are talking of Enterprise, during a hard mission, I concede. But it is still Enterprise, not a prison, where there is someone who has authority to deprive people of their rights.

I can't believe people would actually try to disprove something as a shipper element, on a shipper board.

Landlords and janitors have keys to get into apartments. They're not supposed to use them except in an emergency. I don't see what the big deal is. If you're in a position of trust, it's not impossible that you might have that capability. It's not some nefarious plot to remove people's rights, it's just a practical matter of being able to gain emergency access.

But hey, if you really prefer to think it's profound evidence of T'Pol's love for Trip that he can get into her quarters when he thinks something is wrong, go for it.

My ideas are different from yours, that's a fact, and - as I said already many times - people always - always - will find reasonable reasons to demonstrate their ideas. This is a vicious circle, Alelou. About this sort of things, I'm slightly pessimistic: nobody will be capable of convincing anyone, if this anyone is not already convinced, generaliter speaking.
For what I was able to experience, obviously.
Anyway, I think that about this peculiar matter it plays my personal and Italian sensibility.
And, in any case, probably it should be Malcolm and/or the Captain, those who should have this possibility, I believe.
