Eeeek maybe you should go to the doctor. Could it be skin cancer? Yikes I wouldn't take any chances. I actually have nothing to whine about today. I'm pretty happy. Only I wish my mom wasn't in Canada I miss her.

Been cleaning anything, CX? Or handling something recently cleaned? Bleach and other harsh chemicals could do that.

I'm assuming you don't have typhoid...

True that can happen doing dishes with the wrong soap. I have to be careful myself using cleaning products.

Dude, my fingertips peel like that whenever I handle shrimp. Cooked or raw, doesn't matter. Happens to Marty, too. Could be a latent allergy if you've handled any lately. :dunno: Doesn't stop me from eating shrimp as often as I want (or using it as bait), it just causes my skin to peel if I handle it.

Bait? I hope it's not perfectly good edible shrimp you're using as bait!

Whine: I am not getting enough hours at work. None of us are. And yet (as per corporate's policy, apparently) more people are being hired. This week is especially bad because it's the last week of a pay period and we all got hours cut. I had 19 but went down to a measly 12 1/2 which is absurd. I want 40, or at least 30. They keep saying "It won't be like this all summer, there will be more hours" and I'm thinking, when? It's the end of June, I've been working for six weeks, and I haven't been able to save more than $200 after registering the car, buying much-needed new glasses, and a couple other such necessities, plus of course gas. They're hiring too many people so none of us are getting enough hours. :-X

This is what we seem to get on our local NOAA forecast every afternoon now:

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Flash Flood Watch
Flood Advisory
Special Weather Statement
Hazardous Weather Outlook
Short Term Forecast

The Maine forecast looks like cold and rain every day. I don't really care, though, since we just go there to hang out.

I think they pulled ENT from sci-fi! It hasn't been on in days. I'm upset because I'm stalled at the beginning of season 3. I was taking a crash course, and all of the sudden nothing! How is this fair?

I noticed that too. :(

Have you tried your local library system? You'd be surprised, sometimes, what you can order over the Internet and get at your local library.

It might just be because of the upcoming holiday. I've noticed that Enterprise often gets messed with in the schedule those weeks, but the following week things go back to normal.

Next time I watch TV, I'll scroll ahead to next week in the cable guide and see what's what. I'll report back what I see.

I'm banned from all the libraries in my county. Thanks to my sister using MY card. Idiot girl almost ruined my life with that stunt. They won't even serve my mother because she won't pay MY SISTER'S fine. So yeah I can't show my face there. Thanks Aquarius but you don't have too if it's too much trouble.

No big. I was gonna look any way, because I noticed the same thing myself earlier.

Alelou reminded me of my library problem, now I'm mad at my sister again. She should send us the money to pay the fines she has. WE didn't do anything, and they kicked out of the libraries in our county. They're all connected one card works in all. I used to work in our public library in NY so this is a source of shame. :(

Oh no, today was an improvement. It only sprinkled. Seriously, in the past TWO AND A HALF WEEKS we've had exactly two and a half nice days - none in a row either, so the tomato plants are not happy.

Good gravy, you must have one heck of a tough library system. How big do they let those fines mount up? I think we have a limit of $5 on any given item. At a certain point, you just ask for replacement. Isn't there someone you can call and explain things to?

(Does your sister have a house crammed with old library books and DVDs or something?)

Yeah, none of my veggies looks thrilled at the moment, except for some tomatoes I'm growing with the red plastic mulch. I guess it keeps them from drowning.

The slugs are happy, though.

Coolest, rainiest spring I can remember. I like the cool part, but the rain is getting old.

Still amazes me, how a head of romaine can decide to bolt when there's been no sun and it hasn't bothered to head up in the slightest. :-x
