I figure it's odd if that HASN'T happened to you yet. I think some of the gulls in Florida used to aim...

No, it happens every day, and... please, how do you think the man who has this mishap can feel when this man is bald?

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I couple of years ago I was barely missed. Passed a lamp post and *splat* Had I been a second slower it would've caught me!
But considering the ratio between square land miles on Earth, the number of people and birds (moving around no less) I still think the odds wouldn't be that high.
Unless those pests do aim....

Y'know, I think it's a sad testament of our times that the death of Michael Jackson gets a whole lot more media attention than the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing...
He did his "moonwalk" but Neil and Buzz actually did a real moonwalk.

Re: The Whine thread.
I am so sick and tired of spiraling greed. A couple of towns south they have a festival every year, and off the main road is a sort of business cul-de-sac which has a post office, among other buildings. So the hockey boosters charge $8 (!!!) to park there, and were accosting everyone who drove in, nevermind that you might've been going to mail a letter. (Those who paid got directed into the first couple of lots.) We wanted to park at the post office, which was further down, and the post office was closed. The woman said we had to pay anyway. We didn't and just drove away. You can't charge people to park on government property! There's no way that's legal. And $8!?!
Then the company that runs the fair part was already charging 75 cents a ticket, but they added a 25 cent fuel surcharge. So, as if $4.50 to ride the Ferris wheel wasn't enough, it's now $6. And yet the price of gas is dropping. Think that's backfiring, though; I refused to pay that much and didn't go, and a lot of people must've done the same because the rides were nearly empty. At least I had a good time at the festival anyway. There was some lovely work by local artists, and my favorite fried Maine shrimp haven't been hit by inflation/greed.
I feel like the Spanish Inquisition because at work we have to ask for email, opening a store credit card, and phone number. Because the more personal info corporate has, the more they can inundate people with ads (and coupons, true, but I don't give my phone number out).
AND my computer battery is completely shot. If I unplug the laptop it dies. This, of course, isn't covered under the warranty. There's another $150.
On top of this, the bank was going to charge me an overdraft fee because I deposited a check and got some of it as cash. Well, the cash comes out of the money already in your account not the check, and looky, that puts you under the $100 minimum... so we're charging you $15. (Fortunately since I noticed the kind teller just cashed the check and deposited it as cash.)
It's out of control, this greed.

Re: The Whine thread.
Gah another failed attempt at using my Target.com e-gift card.
I can never find anything on their website!!! Like they have everything I need at their stores, but it just so happened that all the stuff I'm looking for is never listed on the site WTF!! And of course I can't use an e-gift card at the actual store only online. Grrrr
I need a new backpack cuz my zipper broke, but I need like a small one like those for little preschool kids not a big one, I already have a big one for my laptops. And all the kids backpacks on there are like school backpacks and they're WAY TOO BIG. The only small backpack I saw has frelling Elmo on it
whut okay like I don't expect to find little kids' backpacks with Star Trek on them (
) but I'd settle for Hello Kitty... but they don't list nothing on the site dammit!! And don't tell me there's no small Hello Kitty backpacks, here's 3 on Amazon that's exactly the same size as my broken backpack
http://www.amazon.com/Sanrio-Hello-Kitt ... pd_sbs_a_6
http://www.amazon.com/Music-Time-Hello- ... pd_sbs_a_7
http://www.amazon.com/Sanrio-Hello-Kitt ... ref=sr_1_6
See!! But of course other than that Elmo backpack there's nothing else of similar size listed on the Target site!! And Target is an "Amazon affiliate" but Amazon doesn't accept Target e-gift cards. I've had this gift card for like almost a year now I just never find the stuff I'm looking for on their frelling site!! I wish it was an Amazon gift card

My poor backpack
I've had it for like 7 years and I really like it. I wish I could afford to get it fixed
maybe someday... but until then I still need another backpack with a zipper that works

Re: The Whine thread.
This may sound a little convoluted, but can you use the e-gift card to buy a regular gift card?

Re: The Whine thread.
Only other suggestion, T'P, is to check out your local thrift stores. This time of year a lot of people retire their kids' old backpacks and buy new ones. A lot they donate are dirty or damaged and end up in the dumpster costing us $$
, but some still have good use in them.

Re: The Whine thread.
I hate planes.
Specifically I hate planes where cabin power dies for 4 hours leaving us in the dark with no entertainment. I also hate economy class. You know what I don't hate? Free business-class upgrade for 2nd leg WOOOOOO!
That's too bad TPoptarts, have you got a paypal account or friend with a debit/credit card who can pay for something for you, then you pay them back? That way you could do the whole ebay thing.

Oooh I have something I hate. I hate wireless internet! Really I hate and loath it. It stops working, won't tell you why, and then starts working again with no warning. But stops again whenever it wants too. Even if it DOES connect to a network it won't always connect to the internet. Why? It won't tell you. Sometimes I wonder why I ever left dial-up.
