My Personal thanks to JT. she has worked lonng and hard for me. correcting my mistakes, guiding me. Making my story come out better than I had hoped. She is a DOLL. I guess she is a little sick of earing from me the past two days. Writers jitters that she calmed. Consdereing how being a Beta is voluntary and how much else she has on her plate it is a wonder she does such a great job.

I left a review on Silverbullet's latest but I'm afraid people might think I was too harsh. It was not my intention to be mean or rude in anyway. But Just in case I just want to say I got a needle stuck in my head today, after waiting in a drs. office for three hours... I might have been a little tired. Just in case you never know...

Warpgirl, et. Al. I guess I didn't convey my meaning in the story. T-Pol is not being punished she is punishing herself. Trips death has jolted her into consideering their relationship and she now sees things that had been done wrong and mistakes made. She even says or thinks at one point that Trip might still be alive had she done things differently.

Go back read it from that view point and see if it comes out differently for you. If not then I have failed but will learn from it.

BTW, I take total responsibiltiy for the story not any of JT's fault she treid her best to guide me.

Silverbullet the point is that T'Pol is STILL being punished, whether she is doing it to herself or not is irrelevent. It's a continuing theme in your work. And in this particular story you have several characters saying things the re-enforce her self punishment. Pushing the idea that she deserves to be punished for her mistakes. And to me that isn't what love is. Love is not punishing someone for mistakes. It just doesn't sit well with me for any relationship romantic or otherwise. I understood the point of the story, but it's difficult to read the same theme done in almost the same way. Like I said I'm only trying to encourage you, by pointing things like this out. You are really very talented.

Warpgirl, one of the big things about Love is Forgiveness. Trip would forgive T-Pol because he loves her so much. He probably would even defend what she has done or not done. But she cannot forgive herself. Others reinforce what she now believes. She is struggling to reconcile Trips death with what she should have done and what the implications of that are. Haven't you heard people say after a person had died "If only I had......" Death can be a shocker and can cause someone to re-evaluate the relatonship. So, T-Pol is not being punished but she is down on herself. Not that unusual.

If you want to write a story about forgiveness then writing one that shows both sides both Trip forgiving T'Pol, and T'Pol forgiving Trip might be a concept worth playing with. However I didn't see a theme of forgiveness in this particular story. And I'm sorry but if you truly believe that T'Pol cannot or should not forgive herself, well... That scares me. I understand that you find the emotional consequences of T'Pol's mistakes facinating, I like playing with them myself. In fact that's most of my next chapter. But having T'Pol dealing with guilt over mistakes while presenting Trip with none, makes T'Pol seem cruel, selfish, and completely unsympathetic to a reader.

Exactly. I'm very interested about this story, and I'm sure many things (and surprises) are in store for all of us. I like Silverbullet's unusual perspective.

Panysann. I aint telling. JT has the part two and we are going to get it right. When it is to our satisfaction it will be put up.

Warpgirl. I am sorry. You seem fixedated on me harassing T-Pol. I believe in my last story she gave Trip what for because of his faults. Trip is DEAD. She certainly can't get on to him for anything he has done in the past unless she can speak to the dead.

My father and Sister-in-Law commited sucide. I know that ny Brother and Mother both believe that had they done thhings differently they would be alive. My mother let slip at times remorse over what she thought of as mistakes in her realtionship with her husband. I know my brother still believes he was the cause of his wifes Suicide. Remorse after a death is not uncommon. So T-Pol's thoughts are not an example of her being punished but her remorese, refusal to accept she was not partially to faullt for ths. She could not forgive herself.

OK I will definitely have to await the next chapter. I am excited to see it. However I would hope that in the course of the story T'Pol's journey ends in a place where she can indeed forgive herself. Because it is not very healthy for her to carry that around, and I'm sure Trip wouldn't want her too. I don't usually read decon fics so I might have missed that last one.

For the record It's not that I'm "Fixated" on you harrassing T'Pol I've just noticed that in certain stories you bring a lot of emphasis on her mistakes and the emotional pain it causes Trip. It is a theme you rely on that's all.

PS I'm sorry that you have had to deal with such terrible tragedies.
