Just out of curiosity, is Tyner played by Chuck Carrington (JAG's Jason Tiner)?

So, the Xindi probe took a chunk of Florida and cut through Panama... but it didn't even touch Venezuela. Confused Geez, you'd think these people would match dialogue and pictures a bit more.

Thanks for the Archer POV, Mr. Writer. I was kindda hoping to hear from the admiral after the attack. Can hardly wait for the next installment... Cool

Are you saying it started in Gainesville in order to account for the 7 million dead? Are you 'fixing' yet another mistake?

Pretty much. I remember wondering how seven million were killed based on population density and where the beam struck ... even taking into account tsunamis or a "nuclear winter" effect caused by the beam, I just don't see how that many people could have died based on where it hit. Real world explanation is that they just pulled a number out of their butts, of course, but I just had the beam start a little farther north (thus destroying the place of my birth, Ocala, and the city that I mostly grew up in, Gainesville.)

in my head the population of certain parts of florida grew and it did i think end up in venezuela.
yep..
They fired a weapon
that cut a swath
4,000 kilometers long...
from Florida to Venezuela

caracas itself has now 3 million people..
and i thought it started near orlando.
still
there already is a small town in the area near the southern tip and if over time it grew.

i just saw tennisgirl post..
i need to rewatch to see but i think we cut back to the probe while it is still firing and then it falls apart.
so we dont see the end point as far as i remember.
though this is from a seeing about a year ago.

and after looking at the image.. is that other slit the panama canal..
though i am having a hard time seeing it

What they said in dialogue doesn't match with what's on the screen. Look at the angle of the scar in Florida. It very clearly continues down into Panama, not Venezuela.

No, it's too prominent to be the Canal. If you compare the angle of the attack, it seems pretty obviously the final portion of death ray.

Confused Ok Is it So wrong, that I Yelled outloud with Glee, when I read that the Rommies didnt get to Nuke anything on the East Coast? Laughing

So it was kinda the Pearl Harbor effect, only later on in the war. Rolling Eyes Man Humanity got stupid (over run with moronic hippies). Theyve lost entire colonies to this Determined, ruthless enemy, an their only now realising they need to start kickin some Rommie Ass.. Confused Mind if I dissown our decendents?

Anywhos... I wonder what Harris asked Archer to do for him. Cool I really doubt it has anything to do with one former Lt. Reed.

Nice scene. Smile

If you think about it, however, it tracks with a lot of things taking place today. (NOTE: I'm not trying to be political here.) Those colonies are Out There, separated from Earth by vast distances. For most people, they're nothing more than words or places on a stellar map. Sure, it's terrible that people Out There have died, but how many Earthers actually know someone Out There? It's like today: with all the violence and bloodshed happening in the Middle East or Africa, you'd think that more Americans or Europeans would be interested in stopping it or intervening. But, because those places are only names on a map to most people, they don't really think about it too much. Now that the war has actually come to Earth, they've been shaken out of their lassitude. The Sleeping Giant, as it were, has been roused...

Anywhos... I wonder what Harris asked Archer to do for him.

He wanted a really good Vulcan pizza and heard that Jon knows Surak's special recipe...

I admit to being surprised that Harris didn't already know about the traitor. He's not as good as he pretends to be. This is a promising sign for Malcolm's sake.

well, i still dont see it taking an actual attack on earth for the support to be there.
earths on fleet has already been through several major battles.
they already had their equivalent to pearl harbor.

and i dont know how well the anology to well people dont care what happens in afirica ect..
because , in certain world circumstances two things then have to be considered.
one of a lot of these conflicts have been ongoing in one form or another for awhile with small periods of peace in between.
the other despite in certain cases there being interested third parties a lot of the conflicts are seen as internal and a lot less easy to resolve.

in this case you had sneak attacks on earth colonies and earth ships by an outside very powerful scarey mysterious force.

to me the people especially would have in a dither after the defeat of acheron.
and it isnt just pearl harbor;.. see the effect the sinking of the maine had.

as for the effects shot not matching up.
meh.. this is what can happen when the effects team is often having to work with differet phases of a script and the time/money dosnt exist to go back and fix it.

tos had them were orders to fire the photon torpedos would be given and the phasers would fire. one reason the nitpickers guide came into being.

as for harris.
he struck me with having a bit of an ego.
it may have been pricked so much that to one up archer about the traitor he tells him about malcolm.

Since you're in the neighborhood, could you blast Pittsburgh for me? Just one little nuke? Please?
