What exactly do you mean by "here"? Not this board, I'm assuming.

You should live in the so-called "vodka belt", i.e. Northern Europe. Here it is customary to get totally wasted during weekends. Shock

I've never been much of a drinker myself. Even as a student at university I rarely drank to excess. But I did drink and still do. But I've never gotten into this binge drinking that all too many Swedes practice. Now that I'm older I drink even less. But i do drink sometimes, but in moderation. Beer, occasionally some wine or drinks or even stronger things, like vodka or whiskey (but then only one glass).

I see no problem if you do it responsibly and in moderation.

Neither do I. Though it does irk me that even a lot of people who do moderate themselves well (not just people who waste themselves to death) look at people like me who don't wanna drink at all like some kinda weirdos. As if there's like a law or something that everyone has to like and drink alcohol. Confused

I couldn't agree more, Tpoptarts. I dont drink, and never will. Most of my "friends" (I use the word loosely) Think that it's great fun to go into town on Friday/Saturday night and get pissed and stoned out of their somewhat small minds. Bah! Humbug! Never ever! WHY?!? Whats the point of wasting a perfectly good weekend like that? Confused

and the flipping money! and the waistline!

carbohydrates have 4 calories per gram
proteins have 4 calories per gram
fats have 9 calories per gram

aaaaand: alcohol (just by itself) is ALSO 9 calories per gram. Just like pure fat is.

Then you mix that calorific alcohol into a beer full of maltose-y carbs and you get both the alky calories and the carby calories and there's your fat ass right there.

it's all in the math.

T'Poptarts, I am going to look down from the lofty peak of my many many sage years (um, 27 Wink ) and give you some straight-ass advice.

I have heard you describe yourself many times and it is always with this gripey sort of overweight mindset. You sound really cross at yourself for being bigger than you'd like. I am here to say: you really must go easier on yourself!

What about all your fabulous qualities? I've never even met you, and I know that you are witty and interesting and that you don't follow the crowd and you have your own thoughts and ideas about how the world works, and amazingly, you are not merely parroting what your friends are spewing, in fact, no, you must fight against those freaks around you for your morals and ethics, and you do!

So no more T'Poptarts-bashing please. Vulcan WTF

An assignment for you. Write out three things you like about yourself, and one of them has to be something you LIKE about the way you look. Post it up here when you're done.

Cause you gotta spread the word about your own personal coolness.

Listen to her, T'Poptarts. She tracks straight and speaks no shale (I'm watching Terra Nova again.) She helped me release my inner gumdrops, and she wasn't even trying. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Well, I just used my glimpses to wrestle my trembles to rages. (Wait, that's Chakotay...hold on...different stupid-talking episode...okay, I've got it now....).

I meant not to confuse your path. Don't lose your tracks in this.

But the idea of the hollow belly leading to happiness is human shale; digger filth; perpetuated by the cat-tracks in Milan.

Someone's having trouble glimpsing the forest for the trunks.

Glimpse this. You'll fathom.

Or do this telling. I added it to trekref.info under "Trek Languages":

But, keep your tops low and your glimpses wide.
