Well, I am a little weird, but I would never march in a parade. Milles in the hot sun - nope, not me. I share a cubicle with the leader of the team. Very Happy And that's one of our bookmobiles, following behind.

It's of many colours and I made it in sewing class in grade 10 and then I wore it instead of, well, instead of a coat, you know, and then, well, the other kids were all like "a cape"? But by grade 10 most of them had been exposed to me since grade 8 at least, and so they weren't really surprised.

And, while we're going through pictures here, here's Prisocisor same night, Xmas 2004:

Why is he so happy you ask? Well, he is holding a friendly chicken:

I was unhappy, as I am a vegetarian, and there was a pig head mounted a la Lord of the Flies above all:

Gay librarians and friendly chickens. Never a dull moment here at Triaxian Silk!

Nice cape! I used to have one of similar voluminousness in green corduroy. My godmother bought it for me at a Medieval/Renaissance Fair (Faire?) It could double as a bedspread. Very Happy

I don't know if any of the Bookineers are gay, but the SPL has had a presence in the Gay Pride parade for many years. Diversity is the watchword in these here hills. Cool Infinite diversity...

Wink

Western is the only real way to ride - anything else is just for show and for short distance jaunts. The western saddle is the natural evolution that started with the Roman cavelry back in the Republican days. The Spanish improved on it, and then the Americans improved on it further, making the perfect saddle. Wink Not to mention that we don't wear those dorky hats. Raspberry

Since priso was the one who derailed me riding way back in 1997 (as my 16 yr old distracting boyfriend), it was fitting that he should come to see my first lesson. He made a cool composite of his pix and it turned out quite well, all round. (Riding included, except now my bum is sore. Ow. My bum hurts.)

You don't need a helmet on a horse - if you get bucked off, you;re getting hurt, there's no two ways about it, and with or without a helmet the injuries usually happen to your limbs or to your ribs, or worse yet to your spine. So you should just wear a real hat and just stay on the horse. Wink

Some shots of the family. We surprised my father with a party for his 70th birthday a few weeks back.
