Chapter 11 of "Command" by Transwarp is up, but it's a little crunked at the moment and for that I apologize. For some reason the text won't wrap to make paragraphs, so each paragraph is one big horizontal single line. I've done everything I know to try and fix it, and as we say here in the Big D, "This just ain't workin'!!"

I'm reporting the problem to the Bossman and those who are technically inclined, so hopefully this is only temporary. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Chapter 14 of "Family Secrets" by Honeybee is now down in decon.

Fortunately, the problem I had with Transwarp's fic isn't present here, so at least I know it's probably something peculiar about his document, vs. something going on at my end. Hopefully we'll get that fixed for y'all soon!!

Thanks again! I expected a least someone to freak out about that chapter of Dusk - and so far no one has. Which is way cool. It's the one where I "willow-ized" Hoshi - just to see if I could believably do it.

I expected at least someone to freak out about that chapter of Dusk - and so far no one has. Which is way cool. It's the one where I "willow-ized" Hoshi - just to see if I could believably do it.

I'd have to say I prefer the un-willow-ized Hoshi (and I'm not sure I know what being 'willow-ized' is all about, other than having something to do with sexual orientation), but I'm certainly not going to freak out about it. I'm also not going to let it get in the way of a good story, and 'Dusk' is a GOOD story.

I found the parts about Trip's gay brother in the 'Kobayashi Maru' book to be distracting and completely gratuitous. The authors were clearly trying to make a political statement at the expense of their story. But it was a minor distraction, really. (Not a MAJOR distraction, like the whole Trip-impersonating-a-Romulan thing.)

Sorry Honeybee, I know you like that book, so I'll shut up now, and crawl back into my cave. (And I AM going to get 'The Romulan War' and read it, when I get back.)

I'm not freaking out about Hoshi, I kinda can't because Bones is my favorite show. BUT I hope it's not too huge of a thing because I not only don't see Hoshi EVER EVER going for women. She's just not that "free" to me, but because when stories dwell on it it's like Transwarp said a huge distraction.

Even though I have no problem with homosexuality whatsoever, I agree about how it was inserted. It seemed out of place. While it's fun to experiment with things as a writer, you don't want them to stand so abruptly out of place that it's distracting to the reader.

Not to veer too off topic - but I had Hoshi pair off with a female in Dusk for a couple of reasons - and I hope they are organic to the story - even if it is not to everyone's taste. I wanted the AU to feel very different than the regular world, and I think Hoshi might be afraid to bring children into such a dark world (which you will see later becomes a huge theme in the story) - and she's figured out a way to not have to make that choice, subconsciously speaking - and I wanted T'Pol to experience some anxiety over how alien human attitudes toward sex were and what that meant as far as bonding with a human. I worked it out in my head that bisexuality would be more alarming to a Vulcan than homosexuality, given that Vulcans mate and bond for life. Trip has to reassure her that he's straight - because it worries her that humans can be so flexible. So. . .I felt it was an interesting layer to add to the story. In the end, it's just a small subplot. But it was fun to see if I could work it through.

But I totally appreciate that everyone's been cool about it - not rude or anything.
