Well, this is encouraging. In the grand scheme of things, 42 light years is in our backyard.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

After reading about the temperatures there, I wasn't terribly encouraged. Maybe the Tholians could hang out there...

Though to be honest, I prefer my aliens nice and safe and fictional.

Well, here's hoping all the new furniture helps next time a pretty young woman with a great behind drops by.

I wouldn't hold out for the pointed ears, though.

I would kinda like my aliens KTR style, though even a one-celled variety would be terribly exciting for our first contact situation. We still haven't entirely rulled that out for Mars, have we?

Not entirely, but there's not a good chance of life of any kind on Mars now.

But apparently, they are almost sure there is some kind of bacteria on Europa - and some exobiologists think there might be FISH there.

Some really cool space porn from I09:

One-celled aliens are as scary as any of them, if you ask me. New microbes can already be problematic enough when they're from our own planet.
