Entilzha, thank you for the welcome! I was studying German in the school and university. After it I was studying English grammar by the teach-yourself book and later I had one year regular course in English. I am glad that I was studying the languages in descending order of their grammatical difficulty. What place of Estonian language in this regard? I suppose that your grammar is more complicated than English one. Am I right?

Warpgirl. I mean the modern financial crisis and Escriba answered on that remark.

Escriba, I was in a hurry to go home and forgot my main Spanish phrase. But I remember the missing words "uno foto" immediately on way out my office. I forgot the wisdom of our saying: "Make haste and make people laugh". Its English analogs: "more haste, less speed" and "haste makes waste".

Aquarius and Reanok, thank you for a warm welcome!

Estonian is to my knowledge considered to be one of the toughest languages to learn because our grammar is complex. At school I had better grades in English then I ever had in Estonian. In my last year of English I didn't attend two thirds of the classes and I rarely studied at home or for tests. I was ahead of others in my class by a mile. Sometimes when English was the last class of the day I didn't get to set a foot inside the classroom before the teacher sent me home :D

Thank you for the elucidation, Entilzha. I had been reading that Finnish is more complicated than Russian and I had a suspicion that Estonian is also the tough language.
I am glad that we both were able to benefit from studying the languages in descending order of their grammatical difficulty.

Hello all. I'm glad this site was suggested to me.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those to discover the beauty of the ST Ent too late and it took a while for me to warm up to the character Trip. Now, I find him one of the most fascinating (and sexy) characters in sci-fi second only to the sacred Spock and the Trip/T'Pol relationship tied for the best in all Treks.

I write fanfiction based on their relationship because it offers endless inspiration for practice. I also read others' fanfic but I have my own interpretation of what the characters will or will not do so the more a fanfic veers from that, the harder it is for me to read. Just personal interpretation.

How did I become a fan of Trek? When young, TOS was the only show my entire family wanted to watch at the same time.

Other fandoms? Elfquest, Alien Nation (I might be the last). I don't have a favorite fanfic yet but there are a couple that have caught my eye. And the last book I read (more like re-read) The Companion.

I hope this was a good intro. Intros not a strength. If I missed anything let me know.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Welcome Crystalswolf! We've got some great writers here and, of course, great people to visit with here on the forums.

And Asso, HOW DO YOU DO IT? He finds an appropriate, or at least a very fitting , picture for every occassion.

Thanks Asso for the pic. It's now my avatar for here and another site (not sure if I can name other sites here) if I set them correctly.
