Well, it did have a 20-pound cat lounging on it quite a lot, before I got fed up with him for knocking over my water glasses, eating flowers, and chewing on papers (so now he knows he can't do that anymore ... at least not when I'm there).

But yeah, no jumping!

I do have to glue and screw the thing back together periodically, especially the drawers. It is definitely cheap crap.

My sister had the baby yesterday. Lee-Roy Jon (pronounced Y-ahn) 8 pounds 10 ounces 21 inches long. Perfectly healthy with thick spikey blond hair. And he sleeps like the dead. I'm over the moon with joy.

Alelou - yes, a twenty pound cat could do some damage. Of course, my 9 pound Chihuahua is nicknamed destructo boy - he's destroyed any wicker furniture I had - loves to chew it. And just bounds around like a maniac. His running leaps onto my old desk were not helpful. And yes, I've had him professionally trained. It didn't help much. That's why I love him.

I would have loved to get a beautiful old vintage or antique desk - but my house is small and it's a very awkward space, so that limited me. Hopefully the new one will become someone else's vintage find when I am long gone!

His hands and feet are so huge. Really I'm in bliss, the only way it could have possibly been better is if he was actually mine. Because then I wouldn't have to give him back. But as it is I got to hold him a long time yesterday. I've got special privilages.

Alelou I've been here. Just haven't signed in lately it's been a little slow lately. Aquarius I think you'd have a heart attack if you saw this kid's hair. So spiky thick and Dirty Blond. We're not sure it will stay blond of course. But I have never ever seen so much hair on a blond baby.
