Crystakwolf, do you think that Trip would be worried about picking u pa Vulcan Social Disease? Or that perhaps Pubic Lice from T-Pol? (Better known as Crabs) I cannot see Trip going to Phlox at all. That would be revealing something that was private between TnT. Trip was, if nothing else, a Gentleman, and gentlemen don't blab. Why would Trip feel the need for a Doctor after having Sex with T-Pol? He might have needed one after she told him that he was a Lab Rat thenext morning.

I wasn't thinking about STDs or pubic lice but they just reminded me of space herpes (Ice Pirates)

My thought was along the lines of what Honeybee suggested (incompatible bacteria, chemicals, etc.). Although Star Trek canon takes the less realistic road that interspecies relationships can produce a child without medical help, the more realistic problems of the actual act are fair game. I can see Vulcans prepared for such situations because it's what they do, but humans...

I, for some reason, always thought that T-Pol was a Virgin in Harbinger and din't have any Sexual experience. For some reason I thought that a Vulcan mated for life with one person and formed a bond for life with one person. If she had mated before she would have bonded with that person a nd couldn't with Trip. Also felt that Vulcans didn't do one night stands or casual Sex. One mating and one bonding per customer. I also got the idea that Vulcan Females were damned careful about who they got mixed up with. Since T-Pol had forced the parents to break the Engagement she could be on the hunt for a Mate of her own choosing since she apparently accepted the idea of personal choice from Trip's little talk with her in "Breaking the Ice" Don't ask me where I got this, probably a combination of the Episodes and FanFics. Sounds good though

Regarding Trip going to Phlox afterward...ok, I'm probably gonna regret "going there" because we've already had a nice V.D. gross-out, but I think the guys here will back me up: unless it burns, itches, hurts, or smells bad afterward, most guys aren't going to go to the doctor after sex just because the experience was a little unusual. Am I right, fellas?

I mean, it's not like T'Pol and the Vulcans are the new alien of the week--modern medicine of the time would've already taken care of any possibility of cross-contamination or microbes that could be natural to one but harmful to the other. Sure, sexual contact between the two is a new idea at that point, but what if something happened and a human had to give a Vulcan mouth-to-mouth, or vice-versa? So I'm here to tell you that there's nothing along that line that Trip's gonna be worried about. He's already gotten jiggy with a couple of alien babes, he knows the drill.

Not only would medicine have advanced, I would imagine those who are interacting with aliens all the time are given some basic sex ed. So, I agree, that unless something very odd happened, Trip wouldn't have gone to the doctor.

AQ, you are right. Unless a guy developes something later he isn't going to worry. Certainly won't go trotting to the Doctor after Sex. Sure, if his faucet starts to leak afew days afterwards. But that is a different story.

Phlox seemed like a very erceptive type though. I remember in one Episode (I forget who he was talking to) he said that a male and female sitting near them in, the Dining hall, were going to Mate soon. How he knew that I always wondered but he claimed to have multiple Degrees in Phscology from differetn places. This may be why Phlox seemed to know that Trip and T-Pol were interested in one another.
