Re: Would TnT have kept their relationship to themselves?
As long as Trip and T'Pol are on the move, being in Starfleet or something like that, they wouldn't have that much problem with bigotry, Human or Vulcan. But if they decide to settle down on Vulcan or Earth then there might be more problems.
So I can picture them settling down on a research colony or something that is populated by more like-minded individuals. Say one composed of researchers from the new Federations worlds.

It wasn't their first one. It was on a subsequent visit, when Trip expressed concern about the rumor mill.
Re: Would TnT have kept their relationship to themselves?
That was during Rajiin, and Trip is concerned about everyone on the ship thinking they are knocking boots, including Reed. He brings it up, to be surprised that she doesn't care about the rumors.
That's when she mentions that a relationship between them is not against the rules, so therefor it is nobody's business.

Ooops I saw the episodes out of order. Sorry. However you also have to think that both T'Pol's in E2 would know that changing what happened meant E2 would never happen. T'Pol just could have thought if Enterprise doesn't get thrown back in time then Trip probably wouldn't marry me. It's logical in a way. the circumstances leading up to it would not exist. Thereby changing their lives.

She Seduced Trip, handed him his head the next day, Comforts him over his sister, Has an Erotic dream about him but in E2 rejects him and his help. She blew Hot and cold constantly. Drove him off the ship to the cClumbia and then gives him a passionate Kiss in bound, tells hin to Kiss off because she wants to study her religion. finally in Demons and Terra Prime it seems they have a realtionship going. If she isn't certain about the relationship or if she even wants it what is there to reveal or hide?
Her wanting to study the Kis'shara is long before the kiss in Bound (it's the reason Trip leaves - and he returns to Enterprise in Bound). After Bound they still had issues, but if they have a relationship is in my opinion not one of them.

Warpgirl, your thought that T'Pol would think that only in the E2 universe she could marry Trip is an interesting one. In the E2 universe they are so far away from Vulcan and Vulcan costums and law and trying to survive that T'Pol may have thought it was only logical (of course, girl, it's so logical) to marry Trip.

I'm dropping in late here, but I do think they'd keep their relationship fairly low-key, but I also do believe their core group of friends would know. I think they would tell Archer. Trip would. Archer's no dummy. He'd know it was going on, and out of respect I thnk they'd tell him. Phlox would obviously know. And I think Malcolm, Hoshi and Travis would know as well. It's very hard to keep secrets on a ship, especially from your friends. And I don't think Trip and T'Pol have ever been good at hiding their feelings for each other. Regs or no, as long as it didn't interfere with their duties, I think it would be a non issue.

Re: Would TnT have kept their relationship to themselves?
Nice to hear from you Zane. I tend to agree that they would have told their friends of at least answered questions when they were asked. And low-key would be the way they'd go. My only question still is after that many years how many of the extended crew (Rostov, Hess, and others that work closely with TnT ) would eventually ask. I think they would have kept the bond to themselves unless a situation came up and they had to reveal it, but then they'd only say what they had to and either say they couldn't discuss it or just leave the finer details out.

Well I think they'd tell their families, assuming T'Pol has any left. And I agree about Malcolm and maybe Hoshi. With Archer I see it as the Don't Ask Don't Tell rule. I just don't see Starfleet as being supportive, so since the Captain must play ball, they can't afford to confirm or deny with Archer. As for the general crew I think it would be of neither confirming or denying the various assumptions made. In other words, they'd live their lives and keep their mouths shut.

You don't think Trip would eventually tell his parents?

Re: Would TnT have kept their relationship to themselves?
I question how close Trip was to his parents so perhaps he wouldn't say anything until he had to. His parents obviously lost their home during the Xindi attack, at least that's what I assume since they moved to Mississippi. But Trip never showed any concern for their welfare. Also when I think of going home to any other place than my own it's my parents house that I think of and Trip said he didn't have a home to go to when T'Pol invited him to Vulcan. I realize that was a ploy on his part to get the invite but why not say his parents were vacationing or some other reasonable explanation why he couldn't spend time with them?

Re: Would TnT have kept their relationship to themselves?
Not sure it was a ploy to get an Invitation to Vulcan as he seemed surprised when T-Pol invited him a little excited too. I believe he may have been remembering what she said in the Episode Unexpecteed about going home to meet the Mother was a prelude to a proposal.

Re: Would TnT have kept their relationship to themselves?
I think they would tell his parents. Maybe not everything, but some. With Archer, I think the Captain would keep their secret. He must have known by the time of Terra Prime. And if the fact of their relationship was known well enough that they became a target of Terra Prime (stealing their DNA deliberately), a LOT of people must have known or at least suspected.
