Thanks, guys. I'm managing so far, although come to think of it, it hasn't been the writing so much that's aggravating me. Written notes in the office are painful but doable and I can two-finger type with the splint on just fine. It's mostly the minor surgeries and the pelvic exams that I can't do because I can't rotate my wrist. And the dishes, laundry, and cooking at home take twice as long. I never realized how much I do in a day that I need two good hands for.

Oh no Dis! Ouchies! Sorry my friend feel better, I know your pain broke my ankle by getting it stuck under the front seat of a car one time. I'm really left-handed too, if I can't use it I'm useless. Feel better.

Clark's Creek wilderness area (Mississippi) is fun to hike with a group of 12 year old girls in the rain... until the point when your boots slip in the wet clay as you're hanging on to a root with one hand going over a boulder and you feel this peculiar "snap" in your wrist. Not so much fun after that.

Did you know that when you have a radial head fracture your wrist turns all sorts of lovely shades of purple and green and it hurts like hell to write? At least mine does. And I write all day. With my left hand. Which is, of course, the wrist that's broken. Joy.

OUCH!!!! So sorry to hear about that. I hope you heal up fast.

About 9 or 10 years ago I slipped on some ice and got hairline fractures in my radius and my elbow. I got all the pretty colors you're talking about, too. Fortunately I'm right-handed and it was the left arm I hurt, and I only spent 2 weeks in a cast. (Kind of can't do hair in one so that was more than plenty.)

The colors on my wrist are improving. But I can't braid my hair or brush it by myself. And it desperately needs a color but I'm too cheap to go to a salon. I guess I'll let my 17 year old do it. It'll likely be the first time she's ever put in a hair color that occurs naturally on hair.

Some fashion sense your daughter has, to tell the truth every once in a while I think neon purple might look cool. I suppose hubby doesn't do braids. My guy doesn't but his baby brother does I'm told.

Nope, no braids. He can coil a mean bun, though. And change a tire in two minutes flat, which is a good thing since my left rear tire became acquainted with a nail while my daughter and I were shopping this evening and went completely flat while we were in the theater watching Ironman 2. (In which Scarlett Johansen kicks butt and takes names, BTW. Who needs a metal suit?) 8)

Anyway, I probably couldn't change a tire with two good hands. In my present condition you can forget about it.

I'm so sorry, sweetie. I know you had high hopes for this guy. Some people just can't make up their minds, I guess. The wishy-washy ones are always so disappointing.

Ouch. Sounds like he's running for the hills.

It might be just as well. The last thing you want to deal with is an on-again, off-again boyfriend with committment issues. Life's too short to deal with that kind of grief.

Amen but I did warn him to think before he promised anyone else he was willing to do "absolutely anything" for them. Some people don't understand that a promise made in earnest is meant to be kept.

So am I. I guess I'll really have to fight you for Tom Paris. I mean one person I can take, 100's of rabid women for Trip (even though Tom is better) is just too much energy. Hey people wanna make me feel better write a few reviews for me if you haven't yet. Normally I don't beg, but this will be a crappy week. DRs. on Wensday too.
