Yep. My older daughter and my husband are big time hunters. My son not so much. My eyes aren't good enough for accuracy but I'll eat venison any day. It's not PC these days, I know, but my husband and I both grew up in a family of hunters. He started taking the older two kids hunting when they were young and my 17 year old just loves it. I think my son's visual issues and his ADD might have affected his tolerance for hunting, though, because he's not as gung-ho as his younger sister. And my youngest is just too soft-hearted to kill anything, so she and I will do other things.

Due to no natural predators the red deer that were transported to New Zealand by European colonists in the 1800's grow bigger than just about anywhere else in the world. People farm them over there and also let them go feral in the mountains. Some places the only way to hunt them is by helicopter. They have to be hunted because otherwise they'll overrun the country since man is their only predator in New Zealand. My 17 year old's goal is to shoot a stag with a rack bigger than the one her dad shot in Scotland in 1995. She's got a darn good chance of doing that, too. She's a great shot.

Heh. If they don't kill each other instead. It'll be an exercise in tolerance for both of them.

Yeah. We've been planning this trip for a while, now. We leave June 1st. It'll be early winter there so we're packing the long johns. It's a family trip but also a graduation gift for my daughter. She wants to hunt red stag.

Hey maybe they'll meet my cousin he goes to college where you are. New Zeland how cool! I hear it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Great place to enjoy nature.

Great news Bether. Hey guess what guys my dog has come back to live with me. It seems he's become much more managable since living with Grandma for a while. He really is awesome. I feel so much safer with him home.

Four weeks earlier than expected, I'm now an uncle. Yesterday my sister gave birth to a baby boy. :D

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Got to hang out with our two lovely grandkids, and rather liked South Amboy, NJ now that we've gotten a chance to walk around it (among other things, it has an Italian ice place that includes passion fruit ice, and that's one of my favorite flavors of all time). I'm looking forward to spending more time in that area.

And this morning we had a very nice reunion with my son's godfather. We had a really nice trip.

AND we're still home in time for me to get more gardening done this weekend, but my son and I already mowed the lawn before we left so that chore is done.

So it's all good.
