Re: Randomness
Yep, I had something like that happen to me last month. I put my old klunker car up for sale and received some really odd emails in response. This one guy was supposedly going to pay me and then wanted me to wire him $1800 for the difference. Something really weird. I couldn't help but think how stupid he must've thought I was. I found a page online and reported him.

Re: Randomness
Rode my bike to and from school today. Wasn't that bad, actually, although if the temperature returns to Oklahoma norm (i.e. so hot that Lucifer is bitching), I'll probably refrain from doing it again. It only took me 15 minutes to get there and I left an hour before class, so I had plenty of time to cool down and stop sweating (so I could change shirts.) I'm sure the rest of the class appreciate that I brought deodorant too.
Also started a LiveJournal thing today so I can put some of my various random writings up as I work on them. The link is there below my signature block for anyone who wants to check it out. My intent is to experiment with fics there before I actually publish them at important places like TriSilk. Plus, it'll be a repository for fics that aren't TnT-related.
Right now, I'm taking a break from Medea 'cause the words aren't really flowing and trying my hand at an old "Stranded!" TnT fic that I started working on a couple of months ago but set aside. Plus, I put up the first part of the "Counting Down to Zero" fic there so the site wouldn't look derelict...

I really wanna learn French. There's like so many French people here and sometimes I understand what they say. Like I even picked up from a conversation in French that Obi went to San Diego for the weekend and she had to sleep on the beach (because she blew all her money on booze and cigarettes and partying and shopping)
but I can't speak one word
so I really wanna learn French.

The fastest way to learn a language is to pick up a book and take a dictionary to the side and to begin reading. It is a method that works.

You are right! And I love those Penguin Parallel Text editions with say Spanish on the left page and the English on the right all thru the book so your "dictionary" is right there.

Very cool. Mind if I add you?
I've also added my myspace if anyone is interested.
(I also have a livejournal and facebook but I rarely post on those)

Sure. Go ahead. I think I have 2 friends over there right now.

Re: Randomness
Don't you hate it when people just like invite themselves to check what you're doing on your computer and shove their frelling annoying faces at your screen even when it's like TOTALLY NONE OF THEIR FRELLING BUSINESS AND WHO THE FRELL ARE THEY TO ASK YOU WHAT PRIVATE STUFF YOU'RE DOING AND LOOK ANYWAY BEFORE YOU EVEN HAVE A CHANCE TO TELL THEM TO FRELLING FRELL OFF!!!!!!
So like that's what Obi just did. Well fortunately I had BSG on hiding the board so she didn't get to see what sites I visit and what I post about her. Not that she would understand anything if she saw it anyway because she barely understands English. But still. Die Obi die!!!!

Re: Randomness

No need to overreact, though. This "Obi" person's just being nosy, she's not committing mass murder. I always tell my daughter that she'd be less stressed if she'd let things like this slide. She never listens, of course.

Re: Randomness
You know what I'm sick of letting everything slide. Letting stuff "slide" is what makes me stressed in the first place. Letting stuff "slide" here is an invitation for all those frelling zoomates of mine to do even worse next time. Add to that the total lack of privacy already and you'd see why I'm like so totally pissed, I mean like just because privacy is practically nonexistent that doesn't mean people have the right to like cancel it completely.

Re: Randomness
I just got off the phone with Wenya (or Ludjin, as she is published over at HoT) and she wanted me to pass on big hearty "Hello!" to her friends here. She's doing well, the baby is evidently growing like a weed (5 mos. old), and she is quite happy with things. She moved back in with her parents so as to get additional help with the rearing of the young Mister Wenya, and hopes to (at some point in the near future) get online regularly once more. Given that she's a single mom though, she doesn't know exactly when that'll be.
From my opinion, she sounds really good and happy, so that was great to hear. If any of you have questions for her, feel free to let me know and I'll pass them on to her.

Re: Randomness
Glad to hear that Wenya/Ludjin and the little one are doing well.
T'Poptarts, in my experience sometimes it IS best to let the little things slide or maybe politely tell the person that you would appreciate it if she'd give you a little privacy. Have you tried that? If talking with the person doesn't work, then I understand that you have a bit of a dilemma. But during your life you will have to deal with a lot of circumstances and a lot of personalities...at work and at home...and you will have to try to find the best way to handle those situations. Look at it this way. It's good practice.

Hope your little girl is better, Bether.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?
