So life has been kicking me in the butt and I've been feeling a little down in the dumps. But just found some linguistic puzzles that lifted my spirits! My family has started comparing it to crack because I'm so addicted but it brightens my day. Unfortunately, I've already raced through the first site (the puzzles that work anyway)

If there are any linguaphiles interested...

My KOTOR site is up and running all the way again YAY! I'm so happy I missed it. I gotta start playing the games again. Hopefully I'll post my next chapter here before I get so sucked in.

Wow, have to learn to pace myself. If not for WG's post I would have had posted back to back.

Just learned how to make the Le Madeleine-like Chicken Friand. So exciting, so sinful, so gooooood!

Edit: Added "like" because it seemed as though I acquired their recipe or something

We went to the beach yesterday. It was sunny and it was great to experience the smell of the sea and the refreshing sea wind. I have lived close to the beach for 12 years and my husband comes from a town near the beach, but now we live far away from the beach. My husband has a new job - not permanent like they sort of promised, disappointing for both of us - but still we had some extra money. So we bought some extra's for the kids: a custom from their favorite hero's which made them very happy. After the toy store, we went to a musuem and made a walk and played on the beach. At the end we eat fries and returned home. In the car the kids wanted music and started dancing in the back of the car (in their seat belts) on their favoirte pop music: a song from Black Eyed Peas, Aqua, Nickelback, Big Country and protesting if a song or group was - in their ears - boring. It was fun!

That sounds like fun. Last weekend at my stepdaughter's we finally got to walk along the ocean (well, really more of a bay with a close view of the southern end of Staten Island, but still). Even though it's a fairly industrial area it's still wonderful to smell the ocean and see the waves.

Maybe the company will change its mind, eventually. There are so many fears of another crash right now (at least over here), that they might have retrenched a little on their plans, but if disaster doesn't happen (please God) that could change.

Yeah, the same here. I just keep in mind that if he could stay for a longer period the chances of a more permanent job would become higher. I certainly hope my husband finds a job that he likes and enjoys. He was laid off 4,5 year ago in a rather unpleasant fashion and afterwards did a kind to of things like a study/jobs/taking care of the kids. He really enjoys this job and I sure wished he could stay - it would be good for him. But I think we are not the only one struggling with this crisis, sometimes I got the idea the persons who caused it have little understanding what an impact the crisis has on the average family.

Back to the happy news: yes, a walk on the beach near the sea is one of those great pleasures in life. Like to go to Bath one day - one of the oldest beach places in Europe - and for Jane Austen of course.

I don't think Bath is on the sea, actually. Jane Austen and her characters would go there to take the waters in the natural springs in the pump room and such (all still there -- it's very cool, in a kind of mildly sulphurous way). And, of course, one could go to balls and such more cheaply than one could in London. :)

But you could go to Lyme Regis and enjoy the ocean as she (and Anne Eliot) did. Walk along the cobb, etc. etc. It's a lovely place, if a little touristy. I went with my Dad, who was totally NOT into Jane Austen, so I'd like to do it again someday with my hubby or a girlfriend who gets it.

Nope, they don't. Not even a little bit. :-x

And while Bath is not on the beach, the whole Jane Austen resort thing comes from the hot springs and you can even visit the ruins of old Roman Baths, it's not far from the beaches at Bristol!

That makes a great side trip from Bath!

I don't think it's so much that they don't have an idea. I think it's that they really don't CARE. They think of themselves as "the smart money." They figure that if you aren't brilliant or driven or sly or well-connected enough to get rich like them, that's just your tough luck.

So....I didn't get to work on Transformers 3. Due to shooting schedule changes my work day was cancelled. BUT they called today and asked me to work tomorrow in Gary, Indiana. It's about a 2 hour drive from here so I declined, but told them I was available after that. THEN JUST NOW I got a call to report to a shoot at a hospital on the North Side as an extra, so as of now I am working tomorrow. I can't wait! This should be fun.

I had a pre-cancerous skin thingy removed this afternoon and have a 3 inch line of stiches in my knee. I hopt they don't mind that. :?
