OK, just to make all you writers jealous, Pittsburgh Magazine, just released it's "Best of the 'Burgh 2010" issue listing the best this and best that in Pittsburgh--the best Pizza, the best Chinese food, etc . . . . My husband, Tony Norman, was voted by the readers as the "best writer in Pittsburgh." He is a journalist, but the category was not limited to journalists. He, he . . .

So the prize is we get to go to a party on a riverboat sometime in October.

And to answer the unasked question, No he DOES not help me on my stories (though I can no longer complain that he hasn't read them--subject to heavy threats, he did finally read them.)

Now that would make me crazy. If my hubby (fictional of course) was a professional writer I'd want him to STAY AWAY! Seriously I couldn't take the pressure. You are a brave and bold woman jT.

Oh good. I'm brave and bold! Not pathetic and neglected. OK, I'll take it! :) Ha, yeah, WarpGirl, I have this notion that it would be so cool to have my husband ask me my opinion on his work and vice versa. I could be his beta and he could be mine. But alas . . . *sigh*

Again that is brave, I couldn't even get the Sith Lord ex-boyfriend to touch my SW's fic. Too romantic, not enough Dark Side glory. (Yeah like I was gonna do that) Personally, I freak enough when my mom reads my fanfic, if somebody I was in love with read it, I'd have a stroke if they said it was awful. And there's always that possibility.

Congrats! So we have two great writers under one roof. Is the prize for the whole family or just the two of you?

Tres Chic! But I've never heard of "ear candling" and frankly it sounds scary. Anyway Congratulations. :happyjump:

panyasan, I did tease my husband, that since the category is all writers in Pittsburgh, he also beat out me for this prize. WarpGirl, you will be glad to know that it was quite frustrating listening to my husband's critique, which began with the observation that the story was too melodramatic. [WELL DUH!!!! It's a melodrama!] Then he said that my Trip and T'Pol were good, but my Lorian was not very realistic. [ARRRGGHHH!!] Your instinct to keep stories from your significant other is probably a good one, lol . . .
