Ironically, whining about the rules in the New Fanfic Thread is a lot more annoying (and closer to actual rule-breaking), than chit-chat in the New Fanfic Thread 
... Obviously you're not in the wrong if you're talking about fic. Tangentiality is practically the TriSilk motto... Now if we got into a convoluted discussion about the moral implications of Vichy collaboration with the Nazis in WW2 we might have to steer the conversation back to Star Trek

I'm guessing and doing some research to figure some of this out but for the most part we just read for mechanics and structure unless it's a brand new author, whereas reading for rating or 'area' takes a lot of contextual reading and is really time-consuming. But I'm going to start cracking down a little and delaying a post until the sender (which is sometimes a beta) can get back to me. Thanks
