Mine's the one I served on. Yours?

Many thanks for the welcomes - but I have to admit shame... I may be a 'produced playwrite' (5 productions and 1,200 ticket sales - Hoorah!) but not a 'professional playwrite'. I am yet to have the 'professional production' the Writers Guild insist upon.

But I'm already feeling the muse pearing over the shoulder plotting out my Mal short. Who knows, there may be a new direction out there for me!

Well, unlike you, I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I believe it's the USS Enterprise CV-6 "The Most Decorated Ship of World War II." Silverbullet recognized it immediately. Me, I found it serindipitously when I googled "Enterprise" and "Dawn" looking for pictures of Trip, lol . . . But I figured I should honor a real Enterprise for a change so, here is my avatar.

It was "Revulsion," which didn't come out as I had hoped. I actually enjoyed the subplot about Tom and B'Elanna much better and I had nothing to do with it. My idea was that a holo-captain on an alien ship had been "on" alone for so long that he had gone mad, and attacked any ship he came across, including Voyager, and that only the holo-doctor would be able to deal with him effectively (while freaking out a bit about how he could end up the same way). But I really didn't care for the paranoid-about-germs theme that the episode's actual writer introduced. Jeri Taylor told me this was because they couldn't afford the special effects for the shoot-em-out battle I'd proposed -- in general TNG and Voyager always had to save up their space battles for special occasions.

Ah, yes, it was really nice to make money being a Trekkie for once in my life, instead of just parting with it.

Show me another show where some idiot Trekkie can just go in there and get that kind of opportunity. That was really a very special place.

I agree with WG, that was a pretty amazing episode Alelou. Even if it wasn't perfect, it's still wow and all that... and had one of my fav guest actors in it, so it all works out.

My mother always wanted me to try it myself. I thought I was too young let's see that was 1997... Yep I was 13, much too young. I doubt they would have bought anything form me. I think you have to be 18 to even try to write anything to be considered.

And the holo guy nearly ripped out B'Elanna's heart, and led to one of Roxann Dawson's best preformances based off of YOUR idea. So even if you had nothing to do with the greatest Trek Kiss ever, it would have been one of my favorites without it. So really even if it wasn't exactly what you wanted, I for one am extremely grateful. It is one of the fondest memories of my cruddy teen years to stay up late and watch Revulsion and it is because of YOU!

This is really funny. I think I only watched it once...wincing. Not that I thought the actual script was bad or anything, it just wasn't what I had envisioned. I particularly hated the acting by the guest star! LOL. I might have to give it another try someday.

EDIT: WG, I have to say, while it is was very open to outsiders by Hollywood standards, the only reason I was allowed to pitch ideas was that I'd already had a fairly long relationship with Jeri Taylor -- we'd been exchanging letters about TNG for a few years beforehand and we'd already met a couple of times. I had also submitted a couple of (rejected) spec scripts to them before I gave up and just started sending her funny commentary on the episodes, which is what led to the friendship.

But hey, at least my scripts were worn and had coffee stains in the later pages, so I know someone got to the end. 8)

In their offices there were shelves and shelves full of binders of people's signed release forms for spec scripts. They really got a LOT of those.
