So...I wonder how old he was when they did his surgery. I thought castratos weren't being made anymore. If that voice was falsetto then that man's got the most amazing vocal control on the planet. Even if he's missing vital glands he's still got an amazing voice.

What he's doing is applying a concept that in German is called "Kopfgesang" (literally: head singing) He uses his skull as a resonating body, which allows some pretty hefty modulation of the voice. It really sounds as if they snipped something off, but that's not the case
