Re: Body and Katra thread
Aquarious I just finished reading your new chapter It's very emotional and powerful. When it comes to Trip and T'pol trying to cope with the loss of their daughter.
Re: Body and Katra thread
Thanks, Reanok. It was a hard emotional space to write from. That's part of what took me so long.
Aikiweezie--Hope you liked it!

Re: Body and Katra thread
You're very welcome.
We all need hugs sometimes, even virtual ones to tide us through until we can get real ones. I hope you get a real one very soon.

Chapter 3 is being back-burnered for a couple of weeks. It's very close to being ready for beta, but unfortunately it's nearing the end of the semester and I have two papers due next week, and the week after that is finals, so that's where most of my focus has to be for now. It's painful, but the extent of my fannish activities will be popping in here and there for the sake of saving what little sanity I can.
Chapter 2 has been uploaded here and that's fabulous! I do, however want to address something, in terms of my "incorporation" of elements from Eian's HMU series--basically I'm reposting from the feedback in the archive, but I felt it worth repeating.

I do, however, have to correct your assumption, Kotik. Eian and I are friends. We beta for each other. We have many things in common, including most of our views on what the bond is and isn't, what Vulcan society is and isn't, and who Trip and T'Pol are as characters. I beta'd much of HMU; he and I have been discussing "Body and Katra" ever since it was a one-sentence germ of an idea. I'm not about to write something contrary to the way I imagine it for the sake of being "different", just because a friend of mine wrote it the way he imagines it and we agree on how it "should" be, especially when it doesn't serve my story to do so. Eian didn't have to give his blessing because he knows that what I've written are my own ideas as I see them. Your assumption that I saw something in someone else's work and borrowed it because it suited me is incorrect.

I also answered in the comments. I didn't know that the similarities were down to your mindset just being similar to Eian's. It was not meant in a negative way. In fact I loved to find elements, which endeared me to the HMU in your story. It made my day
