...here is a drawing Aureilia did. Out of the blue, all alone in her room, she did this manger scene with mary on a donkey and a bearded joseph behind, with a baby jesus covered in hearts and an angel flying overhead and 3 wise men, all radiating hearts, delivering gifts (which, admittedly, look like futuristic weapons of mass destruction).

I mean, she's never even *been* in a church. We're not Christian, but we do Christmas, and so she's seen the manger scene around, but its pretty dead-on, with all the details.

And *then* on the other side of the paper, there is a note that says "Merry Christmas Les" ... which is a gruff old next-door-neighbour we had in our last town for about a year back in 2008/9. ??? I'm supposed to "send it to him right away". Priso actually works with the guy, so we'll give it to him.

Kids are on this weird wavelength, man.

No egging on I SWEAR but you two remind me of me and my ex- so I just have two things to say... 1. Just enjoy it! 2. Elessar I know you're a sweetie, but please please don't ever ask any girl to marry you then tell her next week you want to be BFF's. Please!

Aureilia's first-ever school picture finally got here!

I was always brought up in the old-school way of "your school picture must be PERFECT".....So I had picked out a white turtleneck and dark pinafore for aureilia to wear, and had them all set out and ready. But I had to go to work that a.m. and so her dad dressed her. The pinafore is the same, but somehow, a fluorescent hearts-covered shirt with a hoodie has been placed on the child instead of the white turtleneck, and a lopsided homemade necklace constructed of some plastic turtle beads from a bracelet of mine that broke ages ago has been added to the ensemble.... and it looks like the north wind did her hair.

And yet I love it! Because of course none of these things matter, and she's cute as a button. Take that Grandma.

I think Dad has talent as a stylist! White turtle-necks, oh the horrible menories! As for her hair, it's 30 times better than any of my younger sis' school pics. All in all I would say that it is absolutely perfect! So I'm with you, take that grandma! God I want my own! You know ek do you have any ancestors from the US? Your daughter looks a lot like a cousin of mine.

Aurealia is adorable!!! And what a great outfit. I could never bother to keep track of picture day, so my kids always got their school pictures taken in random T-shirts with random slogans or sports teams on them. Doesn't matter! Yes, I just checked my picture key chain. My P. has a smile like the Mona Lisa (I LOVE that smile) and is wearing a shirt that says "Music is my Weapon." I never noticed the words before.
