Yeah well piece of free advice don't give one of your "toys" to a girl then break her heart. We get rid of them! I almost regret giving away Obi-Wan's lightsaber... But then, I wanted Dooku's, (prettier hilt) and more comfortable to swing around.

For people not familiar with the Nürburgring - that's what it looks like if driven properly :

Westfield Megabusa @Nordschleife

PS: The video is somewhat lengthy, but it shows a SINGLE lap of this mammoth racetrack :D

Wow, a real-life video game! Congratulations. Had no idea such a thing existed.

Dunno if you refer to the track or the car

As for the track: Most weekends of the year you can just just show up in your car and drive around the ring. You can either pay per lap or you buy a ticket that covers a whole day, month or year (as I did  ) You have no idea, what sort of cars you see during those weekends. Ever wanted to see a Ferrari Enzo or a Pagani Zonda? Just come over here to Germany on a normal weekend. Chances are you 'll see one of them, and usually at least one with an armco imprint on its side by the end of the weekend.
One thing I can really suggest you'll do is a ride in the 'ring taxi'. These are race prepapred BMW M5's driven by Sabine Schmitz, a german female race driver. She's not only drop-dead gorgeous, but also fast and if you survive the experience, you can have a beer in her own restaurant, the "Fuchsröhre". :D

As for the car. The Westfield Megabusa is a car based on the Lotus Seven (read: ancient design). It has a Suzuki Hayabusa engine and can be bought for 35.000 Euros, which is rather moderate for such an insane car

Cool, I've seen the guys from Top Gear using it a lot. 8)

Yeah, I remember Sabine almost smoking Clarkson's lap  Only he drove a Jag and she came within 9 seconds of his laptime with a Ford Transit van :guffaw:

Jeremy Clarkson @the ring

Sabine in the Transit van :D (Just ignore the hideous German accent ;) )

Kotik you're making me long for my grandmother's Audi now, and that's not fair.

She is :D She's also got her own restaurant near the ring. I remember my first ride on the ring taxi with her. It was a rainy day and she threw the BMW around the track like there's no tomorrow :o I almost shat my pants. But she made up for it with a nice beer in the "Fuchsröhre" later on. Ever since then, a visit there is a mandatory part of our ring-weekends

Apart from the long flight and airport hours, I arrived safely at Delhi, spent two days at the Indian Institute of Technology, and already moved to Guwahati (Assam, the East region of India). Even after only two years, I had already forgotten as people in this country are warm and friendly. They always are in good moods, jesting and having nice conversation. I enjoy! Off course, the food quality also counts a lot. Oh, I almost forgot to tell that yesterday night I assisted, from the balcony of my room, a marriage ceremony (party) held at the hotel backyard. Wonderful! The only 'contra' is that their didn't allow me to make pictures to show.

Not so fast with the coach, JT, it's only temporary (2 weeks). I came to attend a traditional conference on my area and to visit two research institutes. I will also took an extra weekend to sightsee Jaipur (one of the main spots in India, I feel). What is like? Very difficult to describe. Almost "Infinite diversity in infinite combinations". There is an enormous difference of Delhi to provincial city like Guwahati (where I am now). The costumes, habits, social differences, all changes. Comparing to our Western culture, the change is even large. But I am very fond of the people here.
