Rayne's about a half hour from Lafayette. I had no idea. It's been nasty and rainy all day but I've been out and about and never turned on the news. I've got a good friend who lives in Rayne. Guess I'd better check on her.

My friend's fine. She lost power for several hours but that's all. Apparently there was one death, a 21 year old woman who died when a tree fell on her house. She stayed in the house trying to protect her child. The child's okay. Lots of injuries and destruction but no one else died.
