Zachary Quinto as Spock in Trek XI

I'm good with this choice. AND he's a Pittsburgh native. And I purposefully ignore reviews, previews, spoilers. I WILL see this movie, and with no preconceptions.

Quinto has been confirmed as at Paramounts trekmovie news conference Comiccon he's going to play younger Spock and Leonard Nimoy was there as well. he's going to play older Spock Abrams is still trying to get Shatner to play Kirk as well a younger to play him hasn't been found anyone yet.The Movie Poster leaves alot to be desired.

Yes Trektoday & Trekweb had the news it's still interesting news about Nimoy returning as Spock and saying it was a good script. He sounded pleased to be returning to StarTrek.i don't know anything about this Quinto I don't watch Heroes.

Well this Zachary Quinto dos resemble Nimoy more then Brody IMO.

An while the Idea of Nimoy returnin one more time is definatly/extreamly tempting. I still feel that the time has come an gone for anythig "New" based on TOS. Id rather move forward, then back.

And just as i thaught ,it is reffered to as "Star Trek" and not "Star Trek XI"

Big Movie News from Comic-Con


J.J. Abrams and his creative team for the new Star Trek movie wowed the audience at Comic-Con in San Diego this afternoon as they revealed a casting coup: Heroes star Zachary Quinto will be playing Spock! And, to the delight of all 6,500 in the capacity crowd, Leonard Nimoy joined Quinto on stage as Abrams confirmed the elder Spock's involvement in the new film.
We've been waiting for over a year now since the next Star Trek movie was originally announced, but there hasn't been any real hard news other than who is writing and directing. But now, we have something to go on! Abrams also revealed new artwork for the second teaser poster. The lettering may be familiar — and once again we get an Original Series look — but this time the logo is inverted and written with starry letters, all on a white background. I was watching the video they have at trekmovie's site and when they introduced Zachery Quinto and leonerd Nimoy they were cherring them and when Abrams said he wants to do justice for Kirk's character and not have him treated so shabbily Generations was mentioned and the boos and the catcalls about how Kirk was killed off. Braga again was dissed for this. That Abrams with this movie none of the characters are going to be treated like that there were cheers from the crowd.

I hope that this Quinto person enjoyed the convention. Because if he does even a halfway passable job as Spock, conventions will likely be funding his retirement. Poor, poor, type-cast Trek actors.

On the other hand: imagine getting PAID to go to conventions??!!

Abram's mentioned Leonard Nimoy's wife Susan talking about how eerie it was at how much Zachary looked like a younger Leonard nimoy and they joked about seeing your double or something like that.Quinto looked like he was having agood time at that press conference.

Does Nimoy's appearance in the movie mean that they'll address Spock's undercover work on Romulus?
