What a coincidence, Alelou, I just had the same request from my youngest. Fortunately she's only 13, so I had a perfectly good excuse to say no to an alcohol-laden party lasting until midnight. Nope, kid. Not yet. (Yep. I'm one of THOSE mothers.

It's such a geeky bunch he's hanging out with tonight, I think he's about as safe as he would be hanging out with the guys from The Big Bang Theory. (I only wish my son did as well academically as the rest of them do.) Not that that's any guarantee, of course, but he knows we'll freak if he comes out smelling like anything stronger than root beer.

My mom used to make my little sister (when out at parties) call her once an hour on her cell phone to listen to the sound of her voice. sis knew that if she sounded drunk and/or high my mom would be there in 2 seconds to remove her from the premises.
