To post a photo on the board you've first got to have an online address for it, Weeble. You download the image into a Photobucket account or something similar (There are lots of them out there, but Photobucket is free) and then post the address with the IMG key.

Just a caution. Make sure you know a lot about local mushrooms before you eat any that you've gathered in the woods, especially if you're not at home and/or you haven't done it before. I took care of a whole family of Vietnamese immigrants back when I was a med student who developed liver failure after they picked and ate some local Louisiana mushrooms that looked exactly like mushrooms that were considered a delicacy back in Vietnam. A couple of them died. So make sure to do your homework about local species. Don't assume that if they look like the ones in the grocery store that it's safe to eat them.

Having learned what a pain it is to have to cut down mature trees, not to mention really logistically problematic if they're going to fall on a busy road in front of our house (or worse, ON our house -- you could ask my husband about that), I've been out there the last couple of weeks murdering young trees all over our property with a lopper. I save any dogwoods or service berries or any particularly healthy and comely youths, but mostly we have weedy locust, beech, pepperidge, witch hazel and shagbarks, as well as annoying clumps of invasive wild roses and bayberry, as well as a fair number of trees I can literally kick over because they're actually dead. I've also been picking and hauling field stone to border some garden paths. It's all fun, even addictive, and nicer than usual since areas that are usually swampy this time of year are dry this April, but today I got carried away and nearly threw up I got so dehydrated.

Oh well. The black flies are also starting to come out -- which means the window for thoroughly pleasant labor in the yard is closing.

Everything's early this season except the April showers. I hope there weren't too many peepers hatched in seasonal ponds and ditches, because they've gone dry. New York is under a red flag warning for fire. That's another reason I want to clear out our overgrown woods, but I'm afraid I'm temporarily increasing the danger by adding to the piles of brush.

Ah, yeah, that would have been a good idea. I watched a little TV and now I have to face the reality that there's class tomorrow (I was on break for the last three workdays). At least I don't have any serious grading tonight.

Saw on the news that there are indeed brush fires breaking out in New York and all over the East coast.

I appreciate the fact that Mr. Nolan's determination to "de-campify" and make his Batman Universe as realistic as possible, doesn't extend to Julie Newmar! Obviously, he is inspired by the fact that she is the true icon for Catwoman. I just worry that Ms. Hathaway doesn't have the same organic and "innocent" sensuality that Miss Newmar injected into the character. Maybe that's okay... At least Mr. Nolan got the right "look." I admit, I was hoping Rachel Weisz would get the part, but since Miss Newmar said she thought Ms. Hathaway was a great choice, I'll trust the expert.

In case you cant tell, I spent ages 5-10 trying to be Catwoman as played by Julie Newmar. I'm insane about this.

They remind me of the movie Kinky Boots. A struggling English shoe factory saves itself by starting to make kinky boots for the transvestite community. It's predictable but fun, partly because the transvestite character is just so wonderful -- same actor who plays the scary assassin in Serenity.

Oh, I'd break my neck, too, trying to actually walk in them. I just like the way they look.

I liked that movie, too. It was great when the transvestite threw the arm wrestling match to preserve his opponent's reputation so the tough guy would owe him a favor. His logic was so deliciously feminine.

Is it weird that I just want the lipstick? I'm a sucker for a good red-lipstick.

I like red lipstick too, but if I put it on, I always end up wiping it off. I don't have the nerve for it. Probably not the complexion either.

Red and burgundy are my favorite colors, though -- by far.

I'm an idiot, I didn't even notice the gun! I'm not sure how I feel about the gun, not that I think a whip made sense, but I see her fighting style as more hand-to-hand and knives as opposed to a gun. I mean if she just shoots at Batman in the movie, it's not fun, their fights are foreplay. Yes I actually said that!

Yeah well, we got that rediculous Halle Berry movie. Without the "character" Catwoman could be any girl in a rubber costume.
