Re: Randomness
Many people have told me that they are going to look at this board and perhaps join it. Never do. promises, empty promises,
Last one was a technician that I met a few weeks ago wen she did some work on my legs. Swore that she would get on the board. I looked for her but nothing.
why do these people say they will give us a look see and never do.

Probably for the same reason that people you meet on holiday dutifully write down your contact details. (Or is that just me?)

Re: Randomness
Maybe they just humor us...
Or maybe they take a closer look and realize we're nuts!
But there may be a new author on the way ... at least I hope so.

Great. I don't think it will require much work from you, and you'll enjoy it.

*facepalm*
For years I've been making fun of stupid laws, mainly in Americaland like in Alaska, where 'It is forbidden to push a moose out of an airplane, which is in motion' or where 'Intentionally avoiding to walk on the cracks in the pavement is illegal'. But lo and behold! Now glorious nation of Germanyland has its own dumbarse law, because the state of Bavaria passed a law that makes it illegal to buy food or drink after 8pm at petrol stations, especially alcohol, if you didn't come by car. Righto, so to buy alcohol on a sunday night, you HAVE to go by CAR. Now, who elected these imbeciles to office?

Hey Kotik,
Its been changed, But..... when I was in college in Atlanta Georgia you couldn't buy booze on Sundays and the party store at the corner put a bar through their fridge doors at 11:45 pm. Of course they removed them at midnight on Sunday so at 12:01 (technically Monday) we would wander up and resupply.
Just so you know there were a few times I drove to Tennessee on Sundays to resupply (after noon) due to unforeseen shortage issues stemming from improper consumption calculations on Saturday.
I figure this was part of the Georgia Tech education. I still maintain I am "a hell of an engineer", look at the diverse fields of study not to mention the lessons learned from errors.

Re: Randomness
In my home County one could not buy Booze starting at 001 a.m. Sunday until 1200 pm. Sunday. Nor could Supermarkets or any other kind of store be open. This was meeat to drive people in to Churches.
Took passing an initiative to bust that up. No more people atteneded Church while the law was in effect than did afterwards.
This did have the advantage of breaking the power of churches in our area. Still could not buy booze on Sunday though.
This kept China town busy in after hours joints.

Re: Randomness
I'm in Student Health. If the university shuts down I have no office to see patients in. I'd only get called in if my city is declared a disaster area and the university volunteers its facility as a storm refuge, and this storm is barely even a hurricane. The winds just aren't that high. The biggest risk is storm surge, and we're not on the coast. We might get some flooding and power lines down, but I don't think it's going to be as bad as Andrew or even Ike in my neck of the woods.
