Re: Randomness
Well WG buggers off for a time on a regular basis, so I wouldn't worry about that, but the absence of the ol' fisherman is somewhat strange. Hell, he even stopped pestering me about getting the next chapter out.
We should call Mulder & Scully.

Re: Randomness
Apparently, Weebie is alive and well. He has accessed two (2) PM's I sent him so that is a hopeful sign.

ENOUGH!
My buddy, excellent project manager in fact so good he only gets the really big ones, has been banished to Newfoundland for the last year and a half with another year to go, wants to go fishing. What else am i supposed to do? He brought cigars and I had whiskey and beer. The weather was colder than a well diggers butt in the Klondike, so when the sun went down there was alot of snoring and the recliners in the living room got a bit over-used.
The fish kinda cooperated as we got a some of mid-teenage browns and both had a chance (damn fish missed the streamer) for a couple of 20+ inch browns. So I check the Triax site and there's a missing persons report!!!
Me and the mutt are resting today. Don't worry SB I took a brief look at your story and it looks good. The good news for writing productivity is that the steelhead are still out in the big lake.
My typing must have woken up Rooby the wonder mutt 'cause now she's underfoot.
Oh and don't worry all you heathens. I still prayed for ya and made mass today.....

I think Transwarp is missing too. I Haven't heard from him in a while and--strangely--I miss his pedestrian posts and predictable opinions. I sure hope he's alright!
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Re: Randomness
That is brilliant!
A few weeks ago somebody showed me an iPad/iPhone app that showed nearby aircraft and gave access to some limited flight data (height, speed etc) but that was something you had to buy - I had no idea any of this was publicly available.
Having said that, the airspace around Heathrow and Gatwick look suspiciously quiet and I wonder how complete the data is.

Re: Randomness
Dunno where you looked, Cogito. London airspace is just a HUGE yellow blob of planes. I tried to follow some planes dive-bombing into LCY, but its impossible. There are hundreds of them at a time.

Re: Randomness
On reflection, since I posted that at oh-dark-hundred this morning, I suspect all the planes were asleep. This morning, the place seems to be swarming.
Re: Randomness
Does LHR even allow flights in the night? Most airports in Germany are forbidden to allow take-offs and landings between 2300 and 0600. I think CGN and MUC are the only exceptions.

Re: Randomness
Heh! I just spotted a lonely plane between Norway and Iceland with the registry RA-64010. I quick google reveals it's a privately owned Russian Tupolev. Aha! An Oligarch, I thought! A little more online digging told me it's probably used by Russian Minister of Finance Alexei Kudrin.
Now I almost feel like a spy!

Re: Randomness
Just let me know when you spot a Sopwith Camel with a beagle flying it. If there is a Red Kraut Tri-Plane in the area it will be a great dogfight....
